Long-lasting battery for high-end pro Location Sound recordings (Lectrosonics wirelesses)
September 6, 2015
These Energizer Ultimate, AA Li-ion batteries are totally worth their weight in gold, when using these batteries in doing film/video productions--especially, in high-end professional Location Sound Recording gear, such as the Lectrosonics wirelesses systems (transmitters and receivers), the Sennheiser G3 systems, and all Sound Devices equipment (552, 664, 788t, etc.). These Energizer Li-ion AA batteries last MUCH, much longer than alkalines. When you're doing a shoot, it's extremely important to have a working transmitter with a good battery as long as possible--the Energizer Ultimate AA Li-ions--because time is of the essence for getting the desired soundbite (one chance only, no retakes), and there's a reduced ability to change batteries when the action/event is occurring.
These long-lasting Energizer Li-ions, as compared to the reduced battery time of alkalines--give more reliability for the equipment using them and assures you that you will get the job done for the client (and get hired again in the future because of your reliable working equipment that includes the better, longer-lasting Energizer Ultimate AA Li-ions!). For example, in a Lectrosonics SMQV transmitter--running continuously--2 Li-ions will last 6 hours vs. just 1 or 2 hours when an alkaline is used instead. So, my very extensive, real-world working situations have shown that the Energizer Ultimate AA Li-ion batteries are the best, reliable choice to allow me to do a good job. These Li-ion batteries are a tad more expensive, but their long-lasting reliability and usage trumps the price! (It really is true, 'you get what you pay for.')
Plus, at the same time, these Li-ion batteries are better for the environment in all parts of the market 'stream' (less extreme, polluting production process, less harmful chemical elements, better waste disposal, etc.), so it's a win-win situation: you get a long-running, reliable, yet economically-priced battery to do the job, and at the same time, your Li-ion choice puts less stress on our Earth environment...and help improve and move along our society towards a better, viable enviro-economic marketplace that gives us a better living, working and healthy world.
Pros:Reliable, long-lasting, easy-waste disposal, better for the environment (less production pollution, better waste disposal, less harmful chemicals); therefore, better than alkalines (worth every penny, the little bit more cost as compared to alkalines!)
Cons:Just a very little bit more expensive than alkalines.
