The Fenix LD12 is a fully upgraded and decked out version of the LD15 flashlight that is armed to the teeth with a multitude of features. This light is definitely a more tactical and flashy design that is a leader in the law enforcement and military professions. Running on just a single AA battery, you get far beam distance, a substantial lumen output, and one rugged flashlight that can handle any job whether you are hiking Mount Everest or preparing to breach the enemy stronghold with the DEA.

Be Prepared

An Option for Everything

Fenix designed the LD12 to throw a powerful punch of 125 lumens for a full two hours and 20 minutes from just one CREE XP-G2 (R5) LED. A variety of modes such as 65 lumen High mode, 30 lumen Mid mode, and 3 lumen Low mode give you options for any situation. A 125 lumen Strobe mode is great for disorienting suspects or signalling your partner, while the 65 lumen SOS mode will ensure that you are never left behind. Light up and engage your targets up to 87 meters away while you single-handedly hold this LD12 in your support hand and your pistol in your firing hand.

Tactical

Designed for the Extreme

Every aspect of this light has been designed for tactical capability. Aside from its aircraft grade anodized aluminum construction, ultra clear and anti reflective glass, and reverse polarity protection and digitally regulated output circuit, the LD12 has a tactical tail switch, a mode interface switch near the bezel, a handy pocket clip, and a crenelated bezel. That's not all folks, as this light also has an anti-rolling body shape with a knurled grip for secure operation. Of course, this light has the IPX-8 dust and waterproof rating that really puts the cherry on top of it all. When choosing a AA battery compatible tactical flashlight, choose the Fenix LD12.

Great little light
July 29, 2014
I bought one of these lights to fit in a small pouch, in case of abrupt electricity outage. While I never got to use it for that, I have used it for other things. On low, I can see behind things while stocking groceries, so I can tell whether it will fit another case or so I can avoid sloppy stocking in the back. It is also useful to read dates on products, which are notorious for being hard to read in many cases. The low mode is perfect for this situation, and for navigating in case of a blackout. I also like that it only uses one AA battery which can be a NiMH. The NiMH saves me money (not to mention the environment). For one AA battery, I get brightness that can rival what many professionals used to be stuck with. This is ideal for finding lost parts in the bottom of your car, finding something in a drawer, or navigating a campground or park trail. It also helps with night time roadside emergencies. All in a package that fits in nearly any pack--including the small Maxpedition I got for carrying supplies for work. Not to mention this light is very difficult to ruin.
Pros:
Uses one AA battery which can be a NiMH. Very compact for its output. Variable output, so you can choose what you want without wasting battery life. No flicker near the end of its battery life.
Cons:
Its small size lends to losing the light, though this is a tradeoff for portability. Fresh alkaline batteries will not allow access to low mode due to the light being designed to operate near 1.2 volts. This can be avoided by using good NiMH batteries which will also save you money and risk of leakage of batteries.
