No beam discipline
May 30, 2012
Ipurchased this light thinking it would be the ultimate carry light. I gave this light 2 stars for a couple of reasons. One, the beam has no definition. If you are in a wide open field it\'s not too bad but in any type of enclosed space the light has so much throw that it blinds the user by the very bright light reflecting off of surrounding surfaces. There is no separation in beam and throw. Also there is a slightly dark spot in the center of the beam. All these things together makes the light not stand up to other lights for the same price or less. I have a Streamlight Pro-Tac 2L output 180 lumens that is substantially brighter even at the center of the beam. It\'s like Jetbeam makes these lights without ever checking the performance , so if you\'re not going to use your flashlight in outdoor wide open spaces, you can do way better for less money. Also most all of the user modes are completely useless again because of the lack of definition of the beam and the dim spot in the beam center that both of my Jetbeam lights have.
