Discover the Night

The long and slender EA2 Explorer uses two AA batteries to generate 280 lumens in its highest mode. Together with the rest of the impressive and innovative Explorer Series of flashlights, the EA2 embodies everything that has made Nitecore a leading name in LED flashlights. From its advanced electronic switches, to its rugged aluminum construction, this light couples big power with cutting-edge technology to provide a reliable and efficient experience every use. Located at the head of the light, the dual side-switch configuration features one switch for activating the light and another for switching through the four different output modes. In its lowest setting, the EA2 can run for up to 150 hours thanks to an ultra-efficient LED and power source.

Loads of Features

Along with its dual side-switches and big-boy outputs, the EA2 also features a power indicator, which flashes when the battery voltage is too low. Premium circuitry runs on either primary alkaline AA's, or rechargeable chemistries for versatile power options. A toughed, ultra-clear glass lens protects the powerful LED from damage, while ultra-strong anodized aluminum protects from scratches and corrosion. A detachable pocket clip allows you to easily secure the EA2 to your belt, pocket, or clothing so you can carry it confidently wherever life takes you. Precision engineered O-ring seals give this light an IPX-8 water resistance rating, allowing for total submersion in up to two meters of water. The EA2 is a handy and practical piece of gear that's more powerful than flashlights many times its size. Be sure to take a look at the entire Explorer Series of flashlights to see the variety of sizes and configurations available.

Great Outdoor Light
September 29, 2012
I purchased 3 of the 4 lights in this series from my friends at BatteryJunction. I got excited about this EC line when I saw the new and innovative UI (User Interface) employing membrane technology on the light head for quick and easy mode changes. All four of these lights have good throw for outdoor use, plus their lowest brightness is good around the house especially going into a dark basement. This EA2 is very pocketable, bright, has the red LED for reading maps and not interfering with your night vision, the blinking LED so you can easily locate the light without the need for attaching a tritium vial. Its most alluring attribute is that it runs on all AA size batteries...You can run it on 1.5 volt Lithium batteries so you can store the light or keep it in your car without the worry of battery leakage or battery failure due to high or low temperatures, or you can run it on Alkaline, NiMH rechargeables and even a 14500 rechargeable battery ONLY IF you use a dummy battery as the second cell. I have two Nickel Zinc rechargeable batteries in mine, and you can check the voltage in the light using a special feature. The great thing about this light is that you can always find AA batteries, so when you are out of your CR123s and 18650s, you can rely on this great light that is packed with features and also has a strobe function for personal defense. I highly recommend you add this light to your bugout box, your kitchen junk drawer, your car\'s glove box, your toolbox or your pants pocket. Tell them \"Arthur\" sent you...
