Nitecore TIP LED Keylight

Powerful Pint-Sized Illuminator!

Potent power in the palm of your hand, the Nitecore TIP LED Keylight is one of the brightest, most sophisticated pocket-sized lights on the market! Less than 3 inches in length and weighing under an ounce, this compact light uses its powerful CREE XP-G2 S3 LED to generate an astounding 360 Lumens that can throw as far as 74 meters - more than enough illumination for most every day lighting needs. In addition to its max output, the TIP comes with three dimmer outputs ranging from 150 Lumens all the way down to just 1 Lumen, fitting the lighting needs for a wide range of situations, from taking a late-night walk to simply marking your location. The innovative light uses a simple dual switch interface, featuring a power switch for turning the light on and off and a mode switch to cycle between outputs, making one-handed operation quick and easy.

Internally Rechargeable!

One of the TIP's most useful features is its special internal Li-ion battery pack, which can hold a charge of up to 500 mAh. The battery pack can be quickly recharged via the keylight's convenient micro-USB charging port, located on the side of the light. This allows the user to easily restore the battery's charge from any USB outlet, whether it be in their computer, wall mount, or 12V car adapter, letting you charge it anywhere you go!

Copious Colors!

Choose the color that fits you best! In addition to its abundance of impressive features, the Nitecore TIP is available with 7 different colors for its durable aluminum body: Black, Gray, Silver, Red, Green, Blue, and Gold. Whether you're trying to match it with your keychain or simply choosing your favorite color, the TIP has the options to bring a personal touch to your new illuminator.

Features:

  • Body made from sturdy aluminum alloy with a HA-III hard-anodized finish
  • Integrated Digital Optic Technology (PDOT) allows for extreme reflector performance
  • Internal 500 mAh Li-Ion battery pack can be recharged via micro-USB charging port on side of light
    • Note: The Nitecore TIP does NOT come with a micro-USB cable. Cable must be purchased separately.
  • Easy-to-use dual body switch interface for simple one-handed operation
    • Power Switch - Used to power light on and off. With TIP turned OFF, press and hold for direct access to Low Mode (1 Lumen)
    • Mode Switch - Used to switch between the light's 4 outputs. With TIP turned OFF, press and hold for direct access to Turbo Mode (360 Lumens)
  • Mode switch doubles as a power indicator, flashing to indicate the remaining battery power
  • Intelligent memory function remembers last mode used
  • Holding both switches engages lock-out function, which prevents light from accidentally being turned on
  • Rear suspension ring can sustain to 66 lbs. (20 kg) of weight
  • Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) technology helps regulate the light's output and prevent overheating
  • Available in 7 Colors: Black, Gray, Silver, Red, Green, Blue, and Gold
  • Included Accessories:
    • 1 x Key Ring

Amazingly bright pocket light - microUSB charging is a nice plus, runs a long time on a charge.
January 16, 2017
I ordered two of these an unfortunately, one stopped working after only one week. Battery Junction Customer Service is replacing the failed one. I still give it 5 star. While an early failure might put some off, in my experience, Nitecore lights are highly reliable and to make a call on a sample size of two would be irresponsible. I have so many lights (tending toward addict) but this one light is my first choice for most needs. The two button interface is ideal; One button for On/Off and the other cycles through low, medium and high. Thank you Nitecore for leaving out the Strobe, SOS and other annoying "features". It is remarkably small, thin and appears to be ruggedly constructed. The choice in colors is especially nice when more than one of these is in the home. Mine is metallic blue, my wife's is metallic ruby-red, and I'm am well advised to keep my hands off hers. It comes with two attachment rings so it fits/pivots nicely on a keychain.
Pros:
See comments above. I would be remiss to not repeat my praise of Battery Junction Customer Service... Excellent!
Cons:
As I said, one failed within a week of use but Battery Junction Customer Service took care of a replacement with no hassles whatsoever.

Good for GF's EDC
January 10, 2017
I bought the grey model for my lady's key chain. She complains about bulkiness when it comes to her everyday wear, so I found this to be the perfect size for her. There are others on the market in the same size range, but aren't anywhere near bright enough for EDC use (except for the Surefire Sidekick, which is actually bigger in comparison and much pricier). Even though the battery life is kind of short, it doesn't have to be that much longer for her purposes of walking to the car at night. Plus, the blinking low battery indicator lets her know when to plug it in so she doesn't have to remember the last time she charged it. I'm a color temperature-Nazi, and this light is pretty close to 4500-5000k in my eye based on the little I played with it. It's much like any other "neutral, but not high-CRI" Cree lamp out there. Decent spill, with a wide but soft hot spot.

So far a nice bang for the buck
October 18, 2016
Got this thing a little while back (I'll say maybe a month, month and a half). I was looking for a new keychain light after my Fenix died on me. I was looking for about the same price range (20 30 bucks) so looking at this one, and given Nitecore's track record (which is pretty good), I took the plunge with this one. I was looking for something maybe about 100 lumens top end give or take, but of course, with the numbers this one has, I started salavating naturally. So I took the plunge (and thank you Battery Junction for stellar service as always. Fast accurate shipping, and also thank you for answering all my questions. Your staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. That's why I'm always a return customer Anyway, I pulled it out of the box, and threw it on my keychain, and started playing around with it a little bit. Just random testing around the house. I found the interface very intuitive to use. Only took me about 5 minutes to figure out how it behaved. Normally, the regular modes are enough for me to use with the light (low, medium and High). Don't really have a need for the turbo mode, but it's a nice feature to have. And it's executed quite well with the second button. Just press and hold for a bit, and it cranks up like a flame thrower. It is damn bright. I was able to clearly see the leaves in the trees from my front door (which as a guestemate, is aprox 120 feet or so from my front door). Even with the high mode, you can light up that distance pretty well. Has a nice throw with an even flood to either side. Very very handy to have. I hooked it up to a USB charger (just a normal Samsung phone adapter. It wasn't really dead at that point, but again just wanted to test it out. I guess there was a good amount of juice on the battery, but nevertheless, it took maybe a half hour for it to top off). Another feature I love is the light indicators. Blinking red while charging, and solid green when it's done charging. As of this writing, I haven't had to charge it since that one time. So far as carrying it around, it's proven very durable. To preface the durability, i have the light on a keyring with my house key, car key and an Atwood Prybaby. I usually wear cargo shorts (not too loose), and jeans that fit normally. I usually have a knife, gum, and maybe a small pocket flashlight (Olight s10 baton) as part of my EDC gear. I've seen a review about the light getting turned on accidentally (which led to the reviewer returning the light, so I wanted to see how it would function using my own EDC stuff, hence why I mentioned what I always have on me on a daily basis) Anyway, carrying it day in and day out, I've only had the light turn on accidentally twice. I usually have it on the low setting as a default, so no biggie if it would totally drain. But I guess I caught it in time. Both instances that the light turned on was when I was lying down on my side that I had the keys on. But other than those two times, I've carried this thing in my pocket extensively with other stuff in my pocket, and no accidental discharges lol. With that being said, and to be fair about it, the gent in the video review I watched seemed to have a boatload more of keys on his ring, so it's certainly possible the weight of the keys might have caused the light to turn on unwittingly. It's just a theory, ymmv. Other than that, it's been a solid light. no problems, very durable. There's a little bit of wear near the underside of the light near the middle, but you can barely see it unless you look close (a couple of caveats: I don't carry my stuff to look all pretty, but I bring it up because some do, and also I got the silver colored light, and my expierience with it with other items is it hides wear pretty well. So if you're big on good looks, I'd say get the silver one, and shy away from the other colors...although I'm not sure how it's annodized, so I could be way off on it. Bottom line, this one's a winner.......I reccomend highly
Pros:
Very well built, solid, but not heavy or cumbersome Power buttons are very ergonomic, and easy to index Lens is recessed into the body, so would make it difficult to scratch or break if the light were dropped Easy to toggle between modes, and easy to activate the turbo mode with the second button Good battery life so far
Cons:
Only thing I can think of is when you turn off the turbo mode. when that mode is turned off, the light reverts back to low level, and you have to turn the light off with the regular power switch. I tried with both buttons, and it's the same result. Mind you, it's not a big deal to me to be honest, as I think the functionality is superb regardless, but maybe just a minor tweak Nitecore could look into with future generations

This keylight is a pocket rocket, Imagine a light that will preserve your night vision in moonlight mode for over two days, mid mode for six and a half half hours, high mode for one and a half hours and light up an entire room in turbo 360 lumens mode.....Well NITECORE TIP is that light ...and all this from a 500 mah LI_ION BATTERY !
Pros:
Quality metal construction,360 lumens in turbo,USB charging port (wish it had a rubber or silicone plug) dual modes for brightness, memory function, advanced temp regulation, mil spec HA 111 anodized coating, and in turbo a increadable 74 yard beam distance,
Cons:
wish the usb charging port had a weather plug (my only complaint because, water, dirt, dust, pocket lint, etc, find a way in)

When these first came out some folks complained that the lockout feature would eat up the battery life. Not any longer! I had one that seemed to run out of power to often because it was left in lockout mode. I sent it back. Nitecore sent me the newest version. It works super. Very nice light with no noticeable loss of battery power when the unit is left in lockout mode. I highly recommend the light.
Pros:
brightness , usb rechargeable, good ergonomics.

I have had this light for a couple of weeks now and it has performed very well, and I have not even charged it yet. This light puts out so much more light than my TUBE light ,it is great, and only slightly larger. I hang it from a belt loop so I always have instant light whenever I need it. Great buy, get one.

Amazingly small and bright
January 23, 2017
I normally carry a flashlight with me. I wanted something on my Keychain to help when the wife forgets to turn on the outside light looking for my keys and finding the key hole. Then I get an email from Battery Junction. Bang. Here it is. Nitecore TIP 360 lumens USB charging on my Keychain. And at a sale price. It was a no Brainer. Couldn't be more happy with the performance. I feel ok to leave my EDC and rely on the TIP. It's bright enough for almost every application. Do I really need 900 lumens in my pocket. Not really. The nitecore is fine. Rugged good looking in red. It's all I need. And so small. 10+ rating.

Good and really cheap
December 31, 2016
/I just bought 6 of these flashlights for my family. It lights up the whole kitchen which is 35x11 feet. For $23 bucks, it is as bright as some of my more expensive lights. It is small and easy to hold. I bought different colors for everyone so no one fights over whose it is.
Pros:
Super bright small light and comes in colors
Cons:
I kind of wish the mode switch was in a different spot I hit the wrong button a few times while playing with it.

Bright & Slight ... no batteries required ever!
December 23, 2016
I was so impressed I bought a multiple color 4 pack for every belt loop in the family! Perfect to attach using a small s-biner hook for convenience to hook & unhook. My husband loves the one on his keychain, great for his work as a mobility chair repair teck. It doesn't get more handy than that, his customers always ask him about it! Max 360 lumens for such a tiny little sturdy light, amazing! He liked that it was made of metal rather than plastic. Highly recommended! A plus that you can lock it out if needed so it won't turn on. Also like how you can check the charge life with a quick touch. Indicator charging light colors are very helpful too. My new favorite!!!

Pros:
easy carry on a key ring, feels good in your hand and plenty bright without turbo.

November 14, 2016
got mine last week and have already had a use for it, I hang mine from the shift lever In my car. Every once in a while wife or I will drop something on the car floor and if at night have a hard time finding anything with the lights from the dash or the ones next to the rearview mirrors, with the tip handy it makes it easy to find something between the seats or seat and door, which we had to do the other night. Can also charge it form the built in car usb port. Provides plenty of light. Time will tell on the durability.
Pros:
price , got it on sale, bright light in a small package
Cons:
no cover for the usb port

Good bright light
November 3, 2016
This is a very handy light, compact and powerful. Even the lowest light level has its uses. My only complaint is that it occasionally turns on in my pocket. There is a lockout mode, but as I understand it the battery will run down in about one week in lockout mode. I like the user interface, but you need to go online to find all the features.
Pros:
Lots of light Plenty of light level modes Quality built Lock out mode
Cons:
Turns on in pocket occasionally or rarely Manual must be found on line

Very disappointed with this light
October 31, 2016
I've had this light for over a month now. I'll say up front that this light is bright for it's size and that I like the shape very much. If one never intends to put it in one's pocket, then it should be a good choice. My intent, however, was to use this as an EDC light, carried in my pocket. The buttons are such that the light turns on in your pocket. It does have a button lockout mode but, by enabling it, it drains the battery faster than if you just left the light on all of the time. I'd be somewhat okay with the light just being on in my pocket but it gets hot and starts to get uncomfortable. So the light either starts to cook my leg (carried in pants) or it drains until dead within one day in button lockout mode. Either way, it is a bad choice for carry in your pocket. Seems like Nitecore has a problem with this light. I have many other Nitecore lights and have had no issues with any until now. OTOH, this is the first Nitecore I have had with a button. After trying to use this light for a month now, I conclude that the light seems to be useless for anything other than at the end of a keychain. And for me even that is a no-go as I put my keys in my pocket. I honestly can't think of a use for it.
Pros:
Shape is perfect for a pocket Size is perfect for a pocket Lightweight Internal rechargeable battery with good capacity
Cons:
Button lockout mode drains the battery quickly - more so than running the light continuously. Can't carry in pocket without it turning on by itself (unless you use defective button lockout mode). Cool light without a practical use.

Nitecore TIP Keylight
October 28, 2016
I love them. I love them so much, I bought 5. This light is so little and puts out 360 lumen! Not sure of its actual weight, but it is close to an ounce. I've put velcro on the bottoms of a few and stuck them to places in my cars. It comes with a low battery indicator and you can even lock it to prevent accidental turn-on. The rechargeable battery is a major plus.
Pros:
Light weight and puts out 360 lumen.
Cons:
Wish the battery lasted longer.

October 12, 2016
I can't belive the amount of light that this puts out! Very nice wide, broad beam that reaches pretty far out. This has to be the ultimate Keychain light! Unbeatable for its size.
Pros:
Super bright even beam Run time on low Weight Dual buttons
Cons:
A cover for the micro usb port would be nice. Im not too worried though. I'm keeping this on my keyring so it shouldn't be much of an issue. I would hate to drop it in the dirt / mud / sand and get debris lodged in it, making it difficult to charge. Time will tell though.

Bright and small
September 29, 2016
I have a vision problem twhich causes me to rely on flashlights a lot everyday, so I am picky about my lights. The high and medium brightness levels on the Nitecore TIP are well thought out, the low is too low. The turbo (360 lum.) is very bright for such a small light. This is a small light and easily fits in pocket or keychain. The switches are easy to use but you it might turn on by itself if you carry it in your pocket, as I do, in the right circumstance. Overall I think I have found my new EDC flashlight
Pros:
Small, Bright and rechargeable
Cons:
I would trade longer battery life for an extra inch in length.

Very nice for its size, but needs a cover for USB port
September 25, 2016
I thought the aluminum finish would scratch easily if attached to a keyring or while in my pocket with loose change so I got it in silver (regular Tip, not CRI). It still shows some tiny scratches, but I think they would be much more noticeable if I got the Tip in one of the other colors. Not a big deal though. The Tip does not come with instructions so I had to download and print them off the internet. Turbo is not a memorized mode. If you turn off the Tip while in Turbo, it will turn back on in High. The Tip will ramp down from Turbo to High after about 30 seconds. The LED/head will get very hot while on Turbo. The modes are well spaced, however, I am not a big fan of anything under 5 LU and the 1 LU of the Tip is only good for very up close work, such as lighting up a keyhole. Turbo is extremely bright for such a small light. The charging indicator lights are a plus. Red for charging and green when finished. The Tip really needs a rubber cover for the USB port to prevent any debris from getting inside or damage to the port by keys or something it comes in contact with while in your pocket. The Tube and Thumb both have rubber covers. I do not know why the Tip would not, especially since it cost the most out of the three. The beam is definitely on the cool white side. Since the Tip uses a reflector, there is a hotspot, but not a very distinct one. It blends into the spill light very well and the spread is more than enough for general use. The twin metal bars that the keyring attaches to are a little loose where they go into one side of the body on my Tip. This makes the bars rattle a little even without a keyring attached to it. The hole where the bars attach is a little too big and there is some free-play as a result. Maybe a defect, but since I only have the one Tip, I have nothing else to compare it to. Once you attach a keyring, it is going to rattle anyway because of the metal keyring hitting the body of the Tip. The listed runtimes appear accurate.
