SureFire E2D LED Defender Ultra Dual-Output Flashlight - Click Switch - 500 Lumens - Includes 2 x CR123As (E2DLU-A)
SureFire LX2 LumaMax LED Flashlight- 200 LUMENS!
The dual-output LX2 features a high-performance LED capable of producing 200 lumens of blinding white light at its high setting (six times the output of a typical two-D-cell flashlight) and a useful 15 lumens of light on low. It continues producing useful light levels for 47 hours on a set of batteries. Its bright, versatile beam is shaped by a TIR lens that gathers nearly all of the LED's light and projects it forward, providing plenty of reach with enough surround light to accommodate peripheral vision. The LX2's ergonomic tailcap switch is programmed to deliver max output when pressed all the way down-making it an ideal choice for tactical professionals. Its Mil-Spec hard-anodized aerospace aluminum body is lightweight, smooth, and waterproof (to one meter for up to 30 minutes) making it perfect for outdoor use and everyday carry too.
- Virtually indestructible LED regulated to maximize output and runtime
- Two output levels-high for maximum light, low for extended runtime
- Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens produces tight beam with enough surround light for peripheral vision
- High-strength aerospace aluminum body, Mil-Spec hard-anodized for extreme durability
- O-ring and gasket sealed; waterproof to one meter for up to 30 minutes
- Two-way clip permits light to be carried bezel up or down
- Two-stage tailcap switch-press for momentary-on low, press further for high; twist for constant-on at either level
- Tailcap switch locks out to prevent activation during transport or storage
- Includes two high-energy 123A batteries with 10-year shelf life
- Adjustable lanyard included

Une of the best all around flashlights ever
September 21, 2014
I bought this light from BJunction back in 2011 and I believe its one of the best lights I've ever had. I'm a bit of a flashaholic and have a lot of similar lights I've purchased through BJunction and other vendors, but I keep coming back to the LX2. This light is tough as a hammer and slips in your pocket like it isn't even there. The two output levels are perfect. The low level is just right for doing simple jobs up close without blinding you with glare, but can still light up objects 40 feet away. The high mode is awesome; this light, as with every other Surefire I've purchased is underrated on output. Seeing such a tiny light throw such as tight and powerful beam is something else. It is a bit much of a thrower ,so I eventually paired it w/ SF's FM54 diffuser and now it really is the perfect all around light. SF's FM04 diffuser can accomplish the same effect but good luck not losing it if you go that route. A lot of better LED's have come out and installed in more advanced lighting systems since i got this light but like I said, I still come back to this one.
Pros:basically everything but the price. anodization is exceptional, even for Surefire.

Ditto to the comprehensive review by Bucketokarma. The \"low\" 15 lumen rating must be understated. It is sufficient for any need short of blinding an attacker which the 200 lumen \"high\" will do impressively, possibly causing temporary blindness for 10 -15 minutes. This thing is BRIGHT!!! I bought a second one so I can have one in the house and another in the truck. If you need a light that will perform for any situation that comes up, this is the one light to get. You will love this light. Don\'t spend money buying three or four lights thinking that you can get something great on the cheap. With the included lanyard (for around the neck, hands free carry) and extra batteries and fast shipping by Battery Junction, you can\'t go wrong. BUY IT!!!
Another Great Surefire product!!

I am a soldier currently deployed overseas. I was issued a halogen-bulb surefire by the Army, and while it\'s a great light, the Army isn\'t going to dole out the extra money to get us the LED version of that light, making battery usage a major drain on my personal expenses. Not to mention that the bulb has a burn-time of around 5-sets of batteries. Instead of going with a run-of-the-mill light, I wanted something incredibly bright, but practical. The LX2 Performs, and does it well! The 200-lm \"high\" output mode is intense, has great throw, and a perfect circular \"hotspot\", making it great for checking on suspicious activities, or in my case temporally blinding an opponent. Meanwhile, the \"low\" mode at 15-lm is great for any everyday flashlight use such as hiking, checking under your hood, and anything else that you would normally use a flashlight for around the home, and outdoors. The LED bulb doesn\'t has better battery runtime at 200-lumen (around 1 1/2 to 2 hrs) than my other surefire has at 65-lumen (around 70min), and when it\'s in low power mode, it\'s not only way more functional, I still haven\'t worn-out the batteries I installed 2 weeks ago (My unit sleeps and does prep work during the day, we only do work at night). In two weeks time, I\'m used to changing out batteries at least five times on my issued surefire, and at least once or twice on my other LED light (comparable lumen output to the LX2 in \"low\" mode).... If you add the F04 (beam diffuser) you now have a complete 4-function high-powered hand-held, pocket carry flashlight. Great light, great company! I would give the LX2 5 stars if not for the price, while it is an incredible light, I\'m not sure the price makes it practical for most people.
