surefire minimus 100 lumens
July 18, 2014
I use it in aviation maintenance. It's light and love the 360 deg capability even though 160 deg is useful. When using rechargeables 123's I find Tenergy is the best one to use after peeling off the label to make it removable. I find the battery last 1.5hrs so for a 10hr shift I find I need 5 batteries if I recharge not at work.
I went rechargeable because work quit taking and issuing 123's. Special care is needed to recycle the 123's if you buy a bunch. I'm sure the non rechargeables last longer, but there is more waste. Over time the swivel gets looser, so adjusting lumens requires two hands to keep it pointed the direction you want.
Pros:light weight and compact.
Cons:Picky on battery thickness.
