Fenix PD25

Pocket Sized Flashlight with Mega Power

Introducing the PD25 LED flashlight from Fenix, a pocket flashlight that produces more light than most full-sized flashlights. The PD25 measures in at just under four inches, making it very lightweight, compact, and able to fit in your pocket, bag, or just about anywhere. Constructed from aero-grade aluminum alloy with a hard-anodized finish, the PD25 is extremely durable, and also features a slip-resistant knurled body. The PD25 utilizes a tactical tail cap switch, giving you access to momentary on/off, as well as constant on/off. So, whether you're quickly trying to find something under the seat or are night hiking, you have some options.

Lighting Technology

The Fenix PD25 offers four levels of output ranging from 400 to 5 lumens, when using one CR123A battery. You also have the option of running one rechargeable 16340 battery, which will output an extremely bright 550 lumens, all the way down to 5 lumens. The small-sized flashlight also offers a strobe option for added safety. Producing all of this light is a CREE XP-L (V5) LED, which offers a lifespan of approximately 50,000 hours. To operate the light, simply press and hold the side switch to cycle through the 4 brightness levels. Press and hold the button for approximately 0.8 seconds to enter into strobe mode.

Primary or Rechargeable

Powering the PD25 are either one Lithium CR123A battery or a rechargeable Li-Ion 16340 battery. Depending on which battery you use, there will be a difference in Turbo outputs. Reverse polarity protection guards you and the flashlight against improper installation of the battery. A low-voltage warning will keep you updated on when to change out your battery. Being that the PD25 is rated IPX-8 waterproof and is impact resistant up to one meter, you can feel secure knowing your light will keep working, even if you drop it in the wettest conditions.

As close to ideal as I've seen.

I continue to look for my version of the perfect light so I can sell all the others and get some of my money back. This one is getting close. It's compact. It has a tail switch so you don't have to worry about it turning on in your pocket. I really like the spread of outputs. Each output has a reasonably good run time, but we always want more. You can use the rechargeable 16340 or get even better run times with the CR123A, which will sit on a shelf for a decade without losing much juice. The price is a little steep, but you get Fenix quality without having to deal with an insane user interface (try Anduril 2.0 to see what insane looks like). I'd like to see a high CRI version offered.

My perfect EDC flashlight.
September 9, 2018
I have been rocking this flashlight for 2 years now, only on occasion throwing in another flashlight to try and compare. After 2 years of testing in all kinds of conditions I have concluded that this is the perfect flashlight to meet my needs.
The PD25 is and excellent sized lightweight flashlight 5 lighting modes. It strikes an excellent balance of lumens, beam distance, and runtimes. I used a CR123 battery, but you can also run this light on a 16340 rechargeable battery.
Well constructed and durable, this flashlight should give you years of excellent service under most conditions. Impact resistance and waterproof ratings aren't the best you can get, but exercising some care, this shouldn't be an issue, it hasn't been for me. I've dropped mine a couple of times intentionally and clipped it to my ball cap while walking in heavy rainstorms and it didn't affect this flashlight at all. I don't suggest you do that should you buy one though, I was just testing the flashlights limits.
Some may complain about the 440 lumens as the max setting on this flashlight. I have no issue with that. In fact 150-250 lumens is the max I ever need, I do on occasion work night shifts, so the 440 lumen mode is a bonus to me.
All in all I consider the PD25 as the best EDC flashlight I can have.

Awesome Bite Sized PD35 is Awesome
February 17, 2017
This little light cannon is awesome. Reading across the flashlight forums it tests out to exactly the output Fenix says it does. The light is small. Small enough for any pocket in any kind of pants, shorts etc. Build quality is the usual outstanding Fenix standard. All machining is perfect etc. You have the option of running it on regular CR123 cells you can buy at most convenience stores as well. Using my new 750mah AW cells the light just cranks. Surprisingly wide beam profile for such a small light. Another "can't go wrong" winner from Fenix.
  • Just about everything. The biggest plus about this light is that it performs to the numbers Fenix says it does which is something I cannot say for a lot of the current brands. Comes with decent belt holster.
  • I personally do not consider the following a con but I know many might. It is not micro USB rechargeable. I don't care built in micro USB lights take forever to charge and I have the latest chargers that do the job pretty quickly and very accurately.

Keep it with me everyday

I have always EDC'd Fenix single cr123 flashlights starting with the PD20. Incredibly bright for its size. I have always preferred this style, head down deep pocket clip. The interface works great but side button can be hard top find. It seems like these lights just keep getting longer, still not too big for pocket but not as small as the older styles.
  • Can use 16340 batteries, good pocket clip
  • Hard to find side mode button. Getting a little big for a single cell light. Bright silver pocket clip.
