The RS series from Klarus combines the rugged durability of Klarus tactical flashlights with the versatile practicality of rechargeable devices. A high intensity charging cable attaches magnetically to the tail of the light and can be plugged in to any USB power supply for fast and convenient power.

The 210 lumen RS1A features three output modes and a blinding strobe for ideal illumination and tactical utility. The convenient dual function side switch makes selecting the right mode easy when the moment counts. A removable stainless steel strike bezel adds to this already versatile light's impressive self-defense capabilities. The RS1A uses 1 NI-MH x AA rechargeable battery and can also be used with a single primary (non-rechargeable) AA Alkaline cell (DO NOT charge the Alkaline battery).

Good concept, unreliable execution

I was searching for a good rechargeable aa light and this seemed to tick all the boxes. Simple recharge mechanism, easiest I have seen. Plug into USB charger, magnetically attach and you are charging. The brightness levels are optimal. Can tail stand.

As I stated, great concept, but concept does not mean a great light. The light is unreliable. I had to return 2 of them. I ordered the first one; no problems initially. I thought, great, I will order a second. The second one stopped working within about a week. So I went to use the first one, and it too, was also not working.

Battery junction gave me a credit for the first one and will send me a replacement for the first one. We will see how that goes. Be aware of QA/QC issues with this light as the issue seemed systemic. 2 stars for excellent concept.
