Ledlenser H14R.2 Rechargeable LED Headlamp - 1000 Lumens
Usually ships the next business day
Hands-Free IlluminationThe H14R.2 headlamp from LED Lenser is the rechargeable version of the H14.2. The H14R.2 is a very powerful headlamp that has the power of a LED flashlight with great portability, that you'll never know it's there. The lightweight and soft headband is adjustable and enables you to wear the headlamp for long periods of time without discomfort. The H14R.2 produces a blinding 1000 lumen beam while in High mode and can operate up to 60 hours straight, while in low mode. Adjusting the brightness is done by the Variable Light Control Technology (VLT), while the Smart Light Technology (SLT) allows you to switch between two energy modes. Energy Saving mode optimizes burning life, and Constant Current mode features electronically controlled, continuous light output. This makes the H14R.2 headlamp perfect for hikers, campers, explorers, and adventurers.
Advanced Focus System
Focus Light Where You Need ItFeaturing LED Lenser's patented Advanced Focus System (AFS), the H14R.2 can focus a beam where you need it, when you need it. The AFS combines the lens and reflector into one integrated system. The result is an incredibly smooth beam pattern that can be focused or flooded for the most optimum performance in both up-close and long-distance applications.
RechargeableThe H14R.2 headlamp is powered by the included rechargeable battery pack, and can also accept AA batteries. At the back of the headband is the battery pack that is weighted perfectly so there is perfect balance while on your head. The H14R.2 is IPX-4 water resistant, so if you happen to be on a jog or a bike ride you won't have to worry about rain drops affecting your trip.

BEST HIGH OUTPUT HEADLAMP
October 11, 2020
I have had this unit for years now and it has made it thru shipyard employment, multiple hurricanes, over the road driving. This is the BEST headlamp ever. I just plug it in when it needs a recharge. I don't recommend using AAA batteries this light uses lots of power. super bright focusable beam. Infinite adjustability.

Low Durability for the Money
February 5, 2018
I originally used this product for hiking, hunting, night cycling, etc; it was not purchased for professional or daily use (thankfully). After only a year of usage and maybe a dozen battery rotations, a tab on the plastic battery box broke off. I now have to keep the battery box closed with a rubber band and try to keep it out of the rain too. This durability shortfall is a similar (if not the exact same) issue as the review written by Cody from North Carolina. I have a few expensive lights ($700+), a dozen or more inexpensive lights (sub-$100), and several more lights that fall in between those two price points. I've come to expect a minimum level of "professional grade quality" from lights that exceed the $100 mark and this one didn't hold up in the durability department. This breakage would be somewhat excusable for a $20 light, but not $100+. I have a drawer full of "retired" lights, several of which cost sub-$20 more than a decade ago, but they are all still fully functional and without defect. This light will probably not be joining them when it is retired. This was my first Ledlenser product and will likely be my last. All that being said, the product has some great features and is quite versatile. If you can get by with only recharging it and never replacing or rotating batteries, it is probably an OK purchase.
ProsBright, well balanced front to rear, lots of functionality, versatile battery/power supply, good run times on Lithium
ConsNot durable, poor cost vs value quotient

This is a well made product with lots of great features. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was I only had a quick start guide for instructions and they were not clear on making the strobe function work. Finally after going online I found written instructions that explained it. Very nice that the strobe rate can be changed with the multi-function wheel on battery pack.
ConsNeed better instructions

Overpriced and cheaply made

I'm a diesel mechanic, I purchased this item through my Matco tools distributor. It works great even though it eats through batteries, but my biggest problem is the plastic cover on the battery holster broke after I went to change the batteries out. This happened to several other mechanics in my shop. For the price we paid we expected a durable product. Never again.
ProsEasy to use, very bright, perfect for working on engines.
ConsEats through batteries, plastic cover for batteries is junk.

This is the second one of these head lamps I've purchased. Great for fishing at night. I bought this for the other person fishing with me. Long lasting battery if the intensity of the light is managed.

Does that wall charger just plug into the battery pack so you don't have to buy a separate charging system and you don't have to take out the batteries?
You do not need a separate charger or need to remove the batteries. The charger of the H14R.2 has a USB port, which must be connected with the corresponding port at the supplied charging cable in order to charge the battery pack.

They say one can use regular batteries instead of the rechargeable ones. Does this include single-use AA Lithium batteries?
Yes, primary Lithium AA batteries can be used.

Is the cable that comes with the headlamp the only one that will work or can you use any micro usb cable plugged into any usb port?
You are not limited to the micro-USB that comes included. You can use a universal micro-USB cable.
