LumaPower LM31 EDC LED Flashlight with CREE XP-G R5 - Uses 1 x AA or 1 x 14500

This LM31 LED flashlight from LumaPower is designed specifically for every day carry (EDC), providing the optimum balance between output and run time. With its dual stage reverse click switch, premium CREE LED inside, the revamped battery contacts, and durable aluminum housing, and small yet lightweight size, this light is sure to impress even the expert flashoholic.

LED Technology

Superior Quality

With one click of the green tail switch you get an instant 150 lumens of output, from which you can adjust to produce beams in between using different battery chemistry. This light makes it all happen from the CREE XP-G (R5) LED at the center of its orange peel reflector so you get a wide flood beam for area lighting. This light is perfect for up close and personal applications as it doesn't wash out important details, no matter how small.

Excellent Craftsmanship

Engineered Tough

Each LM31 LED flashlight is optimized for battery use to get the most out of each and every power source you use, whether it is an alkaline or NiMH. Just one 2600mAh will keep your light running for over an hour! The superior crafted aluminum housing can take bumps, hits, and abrasions. A glass lens with an anti-reflective coating allows for glare-free lumen output, while brand new battery contact mechanisms keep your battery secure and in place.

Keeps breaking
I have gone through 3 of these lights now. I kept ordering them because I really like the light. Great output for a small EDC light. Unfortunately, they aren't lasting very long and that has got me looking for another light. Today was the final straw when I had it standing on a counter when I accidentally knocked it over and poof, out goes the light. It didn't fall off the counter, it literally just fell on it's side on top of the counter. That is not "good quality" no matter what the description or any other review says. The last one had an issue with the switch, it wouldn't work anymore. I am not going to keep buying lights from a company that is clearly putting out garbage. Really disappointed about this because it is great output in a tiny light, but an EDC has to be dependable, of course.
ProsAmazing output for a small EDC light.

Luma power LM 31 EDC
Great light for an EDC. Fits in your pocket nicely and has a solid feel when you use it. With the three adjustable settings and forward click you can find the right level of brightness needed for almost anything. I gave it 4 stars because the LM31 does not come with a pocket clip, which I think is important since it is a small light and can get lost to the bottom of your bag or pocket. I was able to order one directly through Lumapower for a couple dollars.

Brilliant Value
Great light for the price. Size is right, switch operation is positive. light output is almost unheard of for the price. Might be nice to have a pocket clip, but that's definitely not a deal-breaker.
ProsSize Light output Value Ability to use BOTH standard AA and 14500 batteries
ConsNot infinitely variable like my old Proton Pro No pocket clip

Great 380 Lumen w/ 14000 Li (AA) EDC compact size BUT . . .
I bought 2, for me and my wife. I had a problem with the switch on one and returned it. They sent it back and it worked. Found nothing wrong. I used it for about 8 months and the switch would not stay on. I press to click and if I hold the button down, the light will stay on. The spring quickly pushes against my 67 year old fingers and the light goes out. But the EDC utility is limited so I bought a Sunwayman R10A single AA bright light that takes a 14000 rechargeable for extra brightness. It is larger, heavier and not as bright. So far the switch works so the LumaPower LM31 EDC is dust collector. My wife's LM31, still works fine but she barely uses it. I use an Every Day Carry light, everyday.
ProsThe size is the smallest and lightest (aluminum body) Every Day Carry light I have found. The 380 lumens with a 14000 Li rechargeable was great and seemed to last longer than advertised. When I used the light, the tail switch glowed in the dark making it easier to find. I really liked this light.
ConsI sent it back once for a bad switch and it came back and seemed to work fine. (Embarassing, made me feel like a complainer who made a mistake) The switch make the click sounds and feel as it always does but the contact must have debris between the contacts and breaks contact. I can force the light to go on by pressing down hard on the button and holding it down but the spring eventually wins. I don't know if I should return it again, but I do like this light. I may try to take apart the tail switch when I feel I have the time to experiment (low priority since I bought a different EDC light to replace it). I can't recommend something fails before it should.

Quality Flashlight
I was on the fence for a few years concerning the Lumapower brand. I read some negative comments concerning quality issues. The model LM31 always appealed to me. I took a chance and ordered one. I think it is a well designed light of high quality. I like that it is very difficult to accidentally turn it on while it is your pocket, or bag. It is not too small or large in size. It is very easy to hold or carry. It has a very large hot spot and plenty of spill. That feature is very useful. I like that it has glow in the dark O ring in the head and the tail switch glows in the dark also. I like the momentary-on capability. It uses PWM on the medium and low modes. I emailed Lumapower and asked. It is not a bothersome feature for me. I like my LM31. No single flashlight is right for everyone. It does not have a mode memory function that lasts longer than 5 seconds. No strobe, S.O.S., and no mention of an IPX rating so avoid water.
ProsWide hotspot and good spill. Not easy to turn on accidentally. Glow in the dark O ring and tail switch. Nice size and easy to hold. Type 3 anodizing. Can tail stand. Can use lithium ion rechargeable batteries. Decent run time. Momentary "On" feature.
ConsThese are cons only if you need these features: No strobe, S.O.S., long term memory mode, IPX moisture rating. So avoid water.

LumaPower LM31 Flashlight
This is a great light. I have had it for about a year now and use it all the time. I use the 14500 Li-ion rechargeable battery to get the max brightness, but if needed you can always use the cheap and available everywhere AA battery. It is amazingly bright for its size, love the forward click switch feature, it is very fast and easy to cycle thru the modes if you want a different light level, and the low price of $28 seals the deal. I have a bunch of lights, some much more expensive, and this is one of my favorites!
