LumaPower Strive

Smallest 26650 LED Flashlight

Introducing the Strive from Lumapower, which is an all new Sidekick controlled flashlight with their patented Smart UI 3.0. The Strive is one of the smallest every day carry flashlights powered by a single 26650. Measuring in at 4.6", the Strive is compact and lightweight, yet outputs a whopping 830 lumens. The Strive is a pleasure to hold with its durable knurled body and comfortable grip. The O-ring surrounding the reflector glows in the dark, making it a breeze to find in the dark, as well as giving it an awesome look. You can also place the light on its tail on any surface to use as a candle.

Lighting Technology

Cool White XM-L2 LED

The Strive flashlight is equipped with a Cool White XM-L2 LED from CREE,which outputs a blinding 830 lumens while in Turbo mode. By holding the switch, you can select the output and the Strive will remember it when you release the switch. You can squeeze out 416 hours of runtime from this bad boy while in Low mode. The high efficiency LED engine provides constant current, giving you full power at all times.

1x 26650

The Strive is powered by a single 26650 battery and features a dual spring design. A built-in battery level indicator allows you to monitor the power and swap out batteries if needed. You will not have to worry about damaging the battery as there is over-drain protection. You can put the Strive in lock-out mode to prevent accidental activation by loosening the body of the light. To reactivate, you simply tighten the body again.

Compact and powerful...

This flashlight is as good as any of the higer-priced lights in the 26650 single cell class. It has the best throw of the two Fenix Flashlights that I own rated at or near the same lumens output.
ProsThe smallest and most compact in this class. Quality made parts, fit and finish.
ConsYou have to get use to cycling thru the light levels with the side switch

I like the compact size of the flashlight. What I don't like is that you have to cycle through both stobe modes to get back to low, medium and high settings. Other similar lights, the strobes are separate, usually accessed by double clicking, or by pressing and holding the on/off switch. Other than that minor nuisance, it's a nice compact flashlight.

Like it, but don't love it.

I like the compact size of this flashlight, and the fact that it has a long runtime from a 26650 battery. Anodizing and build quality are very good. Tailstanding capability and a side switch are two of my favorite requirements, and the Strive has those. The switch has a good feel to it. The LED output has a green corona, which seems to be typical for the XM-L2 emitter.

I am not a big fan of the UI: to cycle back through the 4 constant output levels you also are forced to go through strobe and SOS. This can get annoying for an EDC flashlight. I plan to use mine mostly as a candle, and the UI should be less annoying. There is apparently a version 2.0 of this flashlight, available in Europe, that has an improved UI, in which strobe and SOS are not in the same cycle as constant output modes. Version 2 also has 5 constant output levels, instead of four, and 3 blink modes, instead of 2.

If V2.0 comes to the USA, I would probably buy one.
ProsCompact size Side switch Powered by a single 26650 Run time
ConsUser interface Green corona in light beam No reverse polarity protection No pocket clip
