Decent built flashlight / junk software or electronics
December 9, 2017
Comes in nice looking packaging and out of the box it has three settings of full brightness, something a lot lower and strobe at full brightness. There's a version 1.0 and 3.0 of the software. I tried 1.0 and it doesn't detect the flashlight at all, version 3 detects it and goes through the motions of uploading the program to the flashlight but changes nothing on it. Also the test function of the software doesn't do anything on the light. This was with Windows 7 so I dragged out some old hardware and tried XP and Vista. On those version 1 crashed before loading and the same result as Windows 7 with version 3.0. The Nextorch website is nothing great with misspellings all over plus the downloads for the Nextuner software are flagged as dangerous by browsers. Compared to a Fenix LD22 high setting of 100 lumens the Nextorch has a brighter hotspot with lower brightness of the sidespill so I'd guess maybe the hotspot hits 140 lumens. The light itself has a decent build quality and a good feel to it. For what I paid it's OK as a 3 function light with the non-functioning programmable ability. I'd consider it a $25 to $30 light if the programming part worked. Overall though I'll likely never buy another Nextorch based on my experience with the software.

Doubtful 140 lumens
September 19, 2013
You know, this is a good light; well made, etc. But the 140 lumen rating is quite a stretch. IMO, the high output on this light is more like 40 lumens. My old SureFire 6P with the incandescent lamp is rated at 65 lumens and it is easily twice as bright as this little number.

Worth the current 40% off price, but I paid more than that and was disappointed by the lack of brightness with this light.
