Nitecore must employ geniuses, to come up with a flashlight, such as the Nitecore C17 ! 4 x Cree XP-G3 S3 at 2,500 Lumens max, as well as 4 x SST-10-IR,within the same light, one only needs to pull the bezel of the light up & turn it slightly, 'till it locks in place, you can easily switch between the Cree LED's or the SST IR (Infrared) You will need two hands to manipulate both the light body & bezel. In IR mode, there're 3 brightness levels, all of which are visible with the naked eye, the secondary mode button next to the larger power button, on the bottom controls the brightness level for both types of LED's. When the light is off, pushing the mode button, either momentarily or for a longer period of time, will produce a very fast (extremely) disorienting strobe light, unlike anything I've ever encountered. Very simple power on/off and brightness level mode button, controls all the light functions. Another neat thing is, whatever light mode you're in, even the lowest setting, and you need 2,500 Lumens right away, just press and hold the mode button & it instantly jumps to 2,500 Lumens, this will save you having to go through 5 brightness levels, in an emergency situation. The C17 is very well made, as you'd expect from Nitecore.
