Multi-Task EDC

Prepare yourself that the pocket-sized fury known as the Nitecore MT1C! This compact every day carry LED flashlight combines the world-class durability of Nitecore flashlights with modern technology and a unique user interface. This light has become popular with hikers and campers, as well as law enforcement and EMS responders as a handy and reliable back-up light. We also recommend light this light as an edition to any emergency prep kit to keep at home, at the office, or in your car!

Compact and Tough

The single CR123A configuration is not only practical, but portable. The MT1C's body is only about three and a half inches in length, making it small enough to fit in any pocket or handbag. Despite its small size, this light produces 345 lumens in high mode using an XP-G2 R5 LED. The MT1C is built from hard anodized aluminum that's resistant to impacts, scratches, and corrosion. Precision machinery and O-ring seals allow an IPX-8 water resistance rating for total submersion in up to two meters of water.

Choose Your Task

The Multi-Task Series' unique interface allows for instant access to exactly the mode you need. The head of the light can be twisted to two positions. When twisted to the left, the MT1C is in its user-defined mode, allowing you to cycle through four output modes, as well as a blinding strobe by rapidly depressing the tail-switch. The light will turn on its most recent mode. With the bezel twisted all the way to the right, the light is in its turbo mode. Depressing the tail-switch when in turbo mode will automatically engage the light's brightest setting. Turbo mode is perfect when you know you'll need instant access to the light's full power - when you're searching through a field, or looking down a trail. The user-defined mode is more useful in closer situations, when you may want to adjust your brightness repeatedly as you look through a tent or hallway.

My favorite EDC
January 15, 2016
I carried this everyday for about a year until sadly I lost it at work. The size and brightness was perfect for my needs. I'm an electrician by trade but mainly do maintenance work now. I liked being able to lock it to "Turbo" only without the other modes. But also found the other modes handy when I didn't need full power. I used "Turbo" most of the time. Of course using that mode I was going through batteries quite often so I started using re-chargeable CR123's and kept spares handy. My only gripe would be the pocket clip was always popping off of the light and that is how I lost it. I tried bending it tighter but it wouldn't matter as it would always find a way to pop off of the light. Anyway great light and I'll probably buy another eventually but I'm taking this opportunity to try other lights out. And yes I hoard flashlights. I have many.
Pros
  • Never failed. Always turned on when I needed it. Like how you can lock the "Turbo" mode to always come on with out cycling through the other modes. Oh and did I mention this thing is bright!
Cons
  • The pocket clip was always popping off. Wish you had the option to attach it permanently.

Greatest light ever

Just about everything is good about this LED flashlight--bright, reliable, sturdy, doesn't take up much space.
Pros
  • Small, compact, yet tough duty
Cons
  • Finding dimmer functions could be a challenge at first use. If you have large hands, you may want to get MT2C with two AA batteries, since its longer shaft may be better for larger hands.

Top notch

Very well made. A good competitor to SureFire, Streamlight, Fenix etc. The programming modes are a little tricky at first, but a great light that fits in the palm of your hand.
Pros
  • high quality
  • high output for being so small
  • good runtime on several modes
  • great price
Cons
  • not much. programing could be setup a little different

Nice small light
January 6, 2015
A nice, small light, plenty bright on high, and small enough to hang around your neck on a lanyard. I found the swith annoying, however - not easy to be sure what it's gonna do when you click it. I would also have liked a "very low" setting, for moving around at night with just enough light to see, but not enough to smoke your night vision.
Pros
  • small, light, easy to operate
Cons
  • no "very low" setting, hard to predict.
