nitcore 1 tailcap

I for a 1" body and it fits pretty damn well. We'll how long it last. Seems solid too me. Going to buy 2 more for backup for the flashlight

Great tailcap if you use the Rodgers technique!

The tailcap that came with the Nitecore SRT6 can't be used with the Rodgers technique as it has protective ears that are flush with the rubber button. I'm glad that somebody at Nitecore thought of this aftermarket tailcap. It has a good, stiff feel, and requires quite a firm push before it transitions from momentary on to click - constant on. Normally, I'm not a fan of momentary - then - click constant on, as when I release pressure from a tailcap button I want the thing to go off. now!, not stay on.

But so far I haven't had any of the usual issues of having to press again to turn the light off. This tailcap button has a good "feel" to it, even with gloves on.
Pros
  • Can be used with Rodgers technique; has a good, solid, progressive "feel" between momentary on and click - constant on.
Cons
  • Had to buy it separately! It should have come standard on the SRT6! Just goes to prove that the majority of designers of (T word) flashlights don't have the slightest idea of how they need to work with other "work gear". I stopped buying SureFire product when they stopped making models with a single momentary pressure button / tailcap and started putting three different functions / connectors into the tailcap.

Is this product strictly a momentary on switch, or is it still a constant on, minus the lanyard protrusions?

A half press of the tail switch activates momentary-on, while a full press activates constant-on.
