When using a flashlight in tactical situations, when you need to prioritize your actions, the TM03 has the options you need to be prepared. The Tiny Monster can be adjusted between Suppressive Light Mode and Strobe Ready Mode, based on your preference, and changed at will. Suppressive Light mode gives quick access to turbo brightness with a simple press of the mode button, and strobe access with a quick double press. Strobe Ready mode inverts this interface, favoring the blinding tactical strobe for fast defensive action.

I'mvery pleased with this last night so far. Keep in mind that this is a single cell 18650 flashlight that is best used for self defense Tactical and a little bit of general purpose. there are plenty of general-purpose flashlights out there that will last longer, throw farther, but nitecoredid a great job on this one because it really does quite a bit especially considering that you're getting 2800 lumens out of a single cell flashlight. The lowest loan is more than adequate for walking around the house or your yard and still easy on the eyes. the 550 and 1350 are plenty bright and more than sufficient and if that was all this like I did it would still be an excellent flashlight butt I also have a mind-blowing 2800 lumens at the highest setting. all for brightness levels can be accessed using the mode switch butt at the highest setting it will thermal regulator and step down because it's going to get hot with that much power. obviously the amount of time before it starts to step down is depending on outside air temperature, wind, if you're moving your hands a lot, ect. I also like the fact you can used the lower light loads and then press and hold the mode switch down to get 2800 lumens and then released to go back to the previous mode you run.the battery on the slides is dedicated not because have any specials positive negative poles but because of the extra power needed to run an xhp70. a typical 30 amp High drain 18650 is about 7.2 WH and the TM 03 battery is a 11.2 WH. I'm not sure how they were able to get so much more power in a 18650 battery but it's pretty impressive. To it's not a big deal you can always carry an extra battery with you if needed. I will say again though this is not a search, rescue, exploring light, but the run times are in line with other single 18650 light. I think nitecore did an impressive job on this one. it is slightly bigger than most sigle 18650 but it's got a nice hefty feel to it.

Pros

2 lowest levels are well spaced and more than enough light for any situation. the 2 highest settings are ridiculously bright with plenty of throw.

Cons

Dedicated battery. (Very minor)

I like the light even with a few problems.

Missing anodizing on fins and threads. Mode switching doesn't always work sometimes you have to engage switch again to change light level. If not for above it would be a 5 star rating. Other than that I am very happy with the light. If bought locally I would have exchanged I hate sending anything back through mail for returns etc. I recommend with reservations.

Pros

Very powerful for size. Nice compromise of throw and spill. I like the instant turbo or strobe function and UI .

Cons

Lower low mode would have been welcome. Missing-chipped anodizing on fins and threads. Battery indicator is instantaneous so you have to be quick to see it.

Worthy addition to my flashlight collection

I was very impressed with the quality of this light. I have several acres of woods behind my house and this little powerhouse lights a large area very nicely. The deer, coyotes and owls cannot hide!
I wish I had known it requires a special 18650 battery so I could have ordered a few spares when I purchased the light. I have a dozen 18650s for my other flashlights but none of them will power up the TM03 to its potential. That is the only negative and why I couldn't give it 5 stars.
