M22 Warrior - Black Strike Bezel
WARRIORS! Come Out to Play!Olight's M-Series of lights have set the standard for tactical LED flashlights for years. Next up is the M22 Warrior, which carries the tactical standard Olight has been known for. A forward-motion tail switch allows for one-handed operation while weapon mounts and diffusers add to the versatility of the device. The ultra-tough aluminum body is anodized to military specifications while the crenelated striking bezel is constructed from stainless steel. What makes the M-Series so popular are the family of accessories available, making them versatile for every application. The combination of power and efficiency make this light an ideal choice for law enforcement, government agencies, hunters, and much more.
CREE LEDEquipped with the latest CREE XM-L2 LED, the M22 produces a blinding 950 lumens in High mode. While in Low mode, which outputs 20 lumens, this tactical beast can run up to 30 hours. A specialized smooth reflector projects the beam up to 305 meters while maintaining healthy peripheral illumination. Three outputs and the strobe function are easily accessed by the mode selector built into the head. You don't have to worry which mode the M22 will turn on with as it automatically memorizes the last output level.
Special OperationsThe straight-forward interface adds to this light's rugged dependability. The tactical tail switch and "Cigar Grip" design allows for a variety of tactical holds for versatile usage with firearms. The tail switch can be half-pressed for momentary on or clicked in place for constant on.
Plenty of AccessoriesThe M22 is powered by either two CR123A or one 18650 battery and features reverse polarity protection, so you don't have to worry about inserting the batteries the wrong way. As with all the M-Series flashlights, there are a plethora of accessories. First up there is the Magnetic X Weapon Mount which pairs oh so well with the RM22 Pressure Switch. Take things a step further with the Stainless Steel Bezel to set your M22 apart from the rest.

Execellent light for the money
Easy light to use. 950 lumens very very bright. Nice combination of spot/flood with huge throw. Well made. Two things I did not like. No 1 lumen mode for night light. Does not stand on its tail by itself. But I am just being picky.

Reading some of the other reviews, either they have a bad light or don't know how to use it. The strobe works very easily. To activate the strobe, you do not push the button until it clicks. Three half presses at moderate speed is all you need. I get at least an hour on high and then it reduces, but it's still usable. You are not left in the dark. I give it 4 stars only because I personally hate twisting the head to change high, medium, low modes. I prefer one-handed operation. I also wish Olight would change their base to allow you to set it on end like a candle. Some of their larger lights allow this. If they made replacements, I would buy them. If you hunt like I do, the red/green filters are a must. Hogs cannot see the green light indirectly and you still have a good field of vision. I do not use the rubber cap holding the filter. I remove the bezel and place the filter under it. You can get about a 3/4 turn to tighten it back up. Do not over-tighten, though. I had a filter come off and blinded a hog with pure white light once using the rubber cover. Ruined my trip. The light has a good amount of throw and spill. Battery Junction does not list the filter as an option when viewing the light, but you can search "filter m22" and it will come up. I have several Olights and have never been disappointed with any of them, except for the few options I've mentioned above. You will not be disappointed if the specs fit your needs.
ProsGood flood and spill. Easy strobe mode.
ConsCannot select outputs one-handed. Cannot candle-stand.

Great light for duty work
I have carried this light almost every day for over a year now. I work security for a large hospital company with several properties, some are very rural others are in the city. I wanted a light that could illuminate objects or persons from a distance in a parking lot. Other lights I have owned would simply wash out in parking lots at night from the lot lights. This light will still light things up very well in a lit parking lot. On the rural properties I can easily light up a field and see everything that is going on. The light also has worked well for me indoors, rather I'm inspecting a elevator shaft or moving through office buildings at night. I carry the light set on low since I mostly use it indoors however with the tactical switch just two quick half presses and hold I go straight to brightest setting when I need to, then simply release the tail cap and I'm back to my default setting. As far as durability it has held up for over a years worth of abuse, I've dropped it, got it soaking wet in the rain, has been borrowed by ER doctors to inspect something on patients and of course when I get it back I've cleaned it with soap and water and it still works just the same as the day I took it out of the box. Also on battery consumption, I've read that it performed better on 123's instead of using a 18650. I've ran duracell 123's and the titanium 123's sold here and both last several months for me, but like I said I mainly use the light on low and just fast switch to high as needed. I think the light is suited perfect for security and law enforcement.
ProsDurable Bright Great beam pattern and distance waterproof great interface

Too many quirks make this a no-go
I had high hopes for this light as it was favorably reviewed in many forums, but too many quirks make this light pretty much useless. The light eats batteries at an alarming rate and is much less effcient than my other lights of similar power. I have tried 3000 mAh batteries and CR 123A cells and the light does not come close to the run times specified. When the batteries get low the light goes into a strobe mode making it useless for anything but self defense. All my other lights simply get dimmer until they no longer function. The low mode is good for pitch- dark- of -night -service, but is too dim for task lighting during daylight hours or in a lighted building. Which is understandable. However the medium mode seems too bright if you needed to see into a darkened space from a lighted area; say if you were trying to run wires in a building. I compared the medium mode of the M22 at 250 lumens to other lights I own and it appears to be closer to 500 lumens. I would recommend the Fenix TK 22 2014 edition if you want a great light with multiple modes suitable for a variety of tasks, no quirks, equivalent throw on high-turbo mode, and does not burn through batteries
Prosseeme like a rugged light, good for pure tactical purposes where the light is used only for a few seconds to a minute or two.
ConsBurns through batteries, not practical, has little utility.

I have reservations about the flashlight. Mine outputs a great beam, but very warm in color. I like the tactical switch only so far. that is the weakness. The name implies the light is for use by those who go in harms way. Yet, getting to the strobe function is difficult. three quick clicks. yea, I've been practicing. We are talking super quick clicks, 3 times. I can get it to work, maybe 2 out of 3 times. Sometimes I am trying to click so fast, 4 goes by accidentally, and you are at square 1. So what tactical value is that? You are in a stressful situation, and you have to count how many times you are clicking. do it super fast. Can you do it in time to have it be useful? I'm thinking if you don't need a strobe, this makes a handy light. If you do, skip it. Adrenaline pumping, noise, threatening environment, and how many clicks was that? I'm also not a fan of the very warm color of the beam. The accessories are great, though. I use this only in a general environment, and it is good for that.
Prossolid construction, nicely finished, great accessories, sheath is a plus. powerful beam
Consdifficulty in getting to the strobe function reliably; warm color of the beam; should be rated better for drops/impact.

Olight has really become one of my favorites, no bells or whistles, just a dependable light. The beam is nice and wide with a good throw, and its a little on the warm side. The holster is a nice idea but not carried out well, just a little to small. The light is awesome, its definitely easy to use and something that will take a beating.I have quite a few olights that get put to the test, they have been run hard, not taken care of properly and abused ,yet, they still keep going. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, looking forward to the next model.

Yep, looks like about 900 to 1000 lumens to me. The beam pattern is a nice mediun-tight pattern, giving a good balance for both short and long range use. The light color is a slightly warm white. The included diffuser friction fits over the head turns the beam into a flood pattern. The holster has pockets for 2 spare batteries and has a hole in the bottom so the flashlight can be used while in the holster. The included lanyard is high quality and neck-length (20\"). It works equally well on 18650 and CR123A batteries, except that when using a 18650 battery it rattles. It will headstand but not tailstand, and it resists rolling. Mode can be selected by tailswitch or twisting the head. The direct-on high and direct-on strobe modes actually requires multiple presses to activate. But the user interface successfully keeps strobe mode out of the way. The polished silver bezel is available separately from BatteryJuncation and can be easily interchanged with the black bezel. This is another high quality and well thought out product from Olight.

How do you cycle between the various light levels? Is it similar to the M20 Warrior Premium I have where I turn the head of the light to cycle? Most lights use multiple presses of the tail switch or an auxiliary side switch. I do not want either of these things. Under stress one does not have the manual dexterity to fiddle with buttons to get the desired light mode. Thank you.
Yes, the user interface is accessed by twisting of the head.

I'm considering the M22 Warrior for a mounted weapon light. I read a review elsewhere that the clip and grip ring are removable but then some O-rings are left exposed. Would the light still be waterproof?
Yes, the o-ring is for the cigar ring. There is a separate o-ring where the tail screws onto the body.
