Ultimate EDC?

I'd say so!

The S10 Baton is the most compact addition to Olight's versatile and dependable S-series of flashlights. At less than three inches long, this lightweight LED light packs a punch and is perfect to carry every day. The S10 fits easily into your pocket or purse and can shine bright everywhere you go. The knurled body makes holding the S10 a pleasure and ensures a tight grip. Add the latest LED technology and you've got yourself a winner!

Lighting Technology

Advanced CREE XM-L2 LED

Equipped with the latest and greatest CREE XM-L2 LED, the S10 is capable of producing a whopping 400 lumens in high mode. While in moonlight mode, which produces 0.5 lumens, you can run the light for fifteen days. A large blue multi-function side-switch can cycle through high, medium, low, and moonlight modes, and can access the strobe with a simple double-tap. The built in memory functions remembers the last power setting, so you're always where you left off. Featuring a lock-out mode, you can be rest assured that you don't accidentally activate the S10 in your pocket. This XM-L2 version of the S10 also features a smooth reflector, rather than the orange peel reflector traditionally used.

Compact and Durable

Superior fit and finish

Featuring durable anodized aluminum, a stainless steel head ring, and an ultra-strong pocket clip means you can feel comfortable taking this light anywhere. A strong magnet in the tail of the light allows for mounting onto any ferrous surface, adding to this unique light's extreme versatility. The S10 can be powered by a single CR123 or rechargeable RCR123 cell. Reverse polarity protection prevents improper battery installation, so you never have to worry about your flashlight overheating and leaving you in the dark.

  • Moonlight Mode is accessed directly when the flashlight is off
    • Continue holding switch when in Moonlight Mode to access Lockout Mode
  • Double click the on/off button to activate strobe mode
  • Equipped with auto memory function and a side-switch

Great Size and Power
A great light to carry in your pocket all of the time. Small and very powerful for it's size, and battery life is impressive for such a powerhouse.

Switch problem but Battery Junction replaced light FAST!
This is my second, well now third, s10. First one I lost. Second had a faulty switch, but Battery Junction replaced it promptly after four months. Plight offered to replace it also, but I had already returned it to BJ. They responded to my email in less than 24 hrs. Could not be happier!
ProsBrightness, compact, easy front pocket EDC, good user interface

Great flashlight, really small and compact, and extremely bright and powerful!
Naturally after I buy it, went on sale for a few bucks cheaper, but still worth every penny I paid for it.

Olight S10 baton is "priceless"
I have owned this light for over a year. I carry it with me every day and it has been through a lot. This light is tough, well-made and just the right size. The different brightness levels are perfect. The moonlight mode is great for camping, the magnet in the base is perfect for working on cars.
ProsCompact, well-finished appearance, perfect brightness levels, rugged, good battery life

Not for pocket carry.
Though I like the size and bright light from this light, the recurring activation of the light while in my pocket is a deal-breaker. I have other "stuff" in my pockets (keys, pocket knives, etc.) and have had problems despite following the instructions to lockout the activation switch. I have deleted this item from my EDC. YMMV.
ProsBright Small
ConsUncontrolled pocket activation.

love this little light
This is a great, all-around, little light for those tasks around the house. The magnet on the back is very convenient and strong. I gave one to my girlfriend so she can carry it in her purse because it is so compact.

Olight S10. GET ONE!
This is great light for EDC. Sturdy clip, works well to secure in backpack, pocket or even on your baseball cap. Super bright for its size with a nice hot spot on the beam.

Olight S10 - A Miniature GIANT Among Every-Day-Carry Flashlights!
It's small, unobtrusive and handy, it casts a very bright beam over a long distance (especially for its small size, but even in comparison to much larger flashlights), it has several levels of brightness and a strobe function (which I almost never use, but its there if I need it). The flat base allows it to point upward on any flat surface, and the powerful magnet in the base allows it to point in any direction from a suitable ferrous surface. The pocket clip keeps it in place and ready at all times, but also lets me attach it to the bill of a baseball cap for hands-free use as a headlamp. Add the Olight TW10 White Glow-in-the-Dark Traffic Wand and it lights up the entire room during a power failure, or the whole campsite in the wilderness.
ProsIs everything an acceptable answer?
ConsNone has to be my answer here. I can't think of anything that the Olight S10 doesn't do perfectly.

My EDC light for at least three years now!
I have carried an Olight S10 as my EDC light for at least 3 years now. That says a lot considering I am an avid outdoorsman as well as a flashoholic. I am retired from the US Army and spent most of my time with the 82nd ABN DIV at Ft. Bragg, NC. As a result of my occupation I had the good fortune of using lots of then state of the art optics, firearms, flashlights, etc. Since I've retired I spend a lot of time outside at night and have purchased a number of flashlights. This particular light is and has been my EDC light for over three years. The improvements since my first S10 are significant, such as the increase in the lumens and more importantly the lock out feature which prevents the light from coming on by mistake. The main reason it is my EDC light is it's size. It runs on a single CR123A and is very short. This allows me to wear it on my belt without it being pushed off when I squat down. It has a moon-light feature which gives you a long run time and doesn't destroy your night vision. Great for the tent or to attach to a headlamp assembly. The magnetic, flat end cap is also a great feature for everyday use. It will attach strongly to anything metal through the magnetic end and the ability to tail stand is a feature I always like in a light. It's Mil Spec and so far has held up to tough conditions. I highly recommend the Olight S10 Baton.
ProsLock Out Feature Magnetic tailcap Moon light phase Small enought to use as an EDC light
ConsWish it had a rechargable battery Needs a stronger belt clip

Surprisingly bright little light!
I was looking for a very compact EDC that I could carry around in my pocket and saw this recommended by several sources, so I gave it a try. I have to say that I am very impressed (impressed enough to write a review even!). It really is shockingly bright when you use the high power mode, and is small enough to be carried comfortably by anyone. I didn't know about the magnetic tail cap when i bought it, but boy do I love it! I have been sticking this sucker to every metal surface in sight. I think that is one feature that more lights of this type should have. I really can't say enough good things about this one, it's great as an EDC or just something to keep in the glove box.
Pros- Small size - Runs on a single battery - Very bright - Magnetic!
Cons- So small you could lose it - Side switch can possibly be activated in a tight pocket

Really important "BUT"
This is my HANDS DOWN FAVORITE EDC Light! Makes everyone jealous and makes me happy. until the on/off switch breaks. I'm writing this review with the hopes and prayers someone from Olight will read this and fix this HEARTBREAKING DEFECT that is currently keeping me from carrying my favorite object. Within the first 6-8 weeks of everyday carry, the button broke off my first light. However, I loved this light so very much, I QUICKLY ordered a replacement. Then the horror of reality set in when the second on/off switch broke off my second light after 8-12 weeks of every day carry, but my love for this light wouldn't allow me to give in, and I convinced myself that I was somehow to blame for the switch breaking. I ordered a 3rd $50 light and convinced myself I could take care to not break it. Alas, my story ends in heartbreak, as 3-4 months later.....I'm left holding a 3rd broken light. I constantly check for an upgrade as I'm sure they must be aware of this by now.
ProsThe most incredible light every conceived..... from the beam to the belt clip.
ConsOn/off Switch will break off....

Great light for first responders!!!
I love this light! I am a volunteer firefighter, Special Police officer, Fire Police officer, and Special Operations Team member. I have had this light about 6 months. I clip it to my fire digital pager case, vertical, light up. I arranged the belt clip to about 90 degrees from the button for ease of right hand use. I put the lanyard tail around the velcro cover tab for the pager to keep it out of the way and securely attached. I don't know if this version of S10 Baton has the lock-out function, but I just unscrew the back cap 1 turn to break the battery connection. The o-ring is plenty snug to keep the tail-cap from unscrewing, and the lanyard would hang onto that. it only takes a second to twist the cap back tight, and I can do it with fire gloves on. I always return to the moonlight setting when storing it; just in case and given its face up, I can easily see if it does come on. Fits nicely against the pager and is out of the way. It is the same length as the pager case. Have 2 now, and will be getting more for that cherished technical present giving to my kids (all firemen and/or cops).
ProsDamn bright; don't point the high beam at anybody. Love the 4 brightness settings. One of them has always been perfect for the jobs. Even used the strobe function once to identify my location to a search team about a quater mile away in the daylight. They commented on its effectiveness.

Favorite Personal Light
After being involved in several altercations at my security occupation, I decided that a compact, easy to reach for and simple to use blinding strobe was a handy idea. I\'d always carried a small light for utility purposes, but in the S10 I have found the perfect blend of utility and tactical use. The battery life is reasonable, the switch on the side is easy to use, even with freezing cold hands. The high mode on a decent charge battery is literally painfully blinding, even in daylight it still hurts to look at, you can use this even in a normally lit environment indoors with strobe mode to disorient someone. Anytime I\'m on a call at my work and I\'m handling potentially hostile people, whenever I approach this little light is snugged into my left palm, my fingers ready to squeeze. For personal strobe defense usage: Try holding it inside your palm with your fingers wrapped around it, you can use basic gross motor skills like a squeezed fist motion to actuate it on, change modes, and strobe. I do all the time, especially when it\'s cold and my dexterity goes down outdoors. This also allows it to stay hidden because it\'s so small, so it\'s an advantage that people can\'t see that you have this out until you really need to let them know. For those complaining of the lockout failing...if you pocket it without the clip on it? It never unlocks it in lockout mode. Trust me. I hit a dead sprint at work, tripped and took a tumble across a tile floor, and my light STILL had not come out of lockout mode. The clip on mine was really awful and broke anyway. The solution to the lockout issue is to carry it on the supplied lanyard, it\'s a really nice comfortable lanyard that allows excellent retention, fast draw out of the pocket and won\'t have it snag on anything either! Overall my only complaint is the clip; mine snapped in two. But honestly? I prefer it without the clip. Kind of glad it broke now, in a way. Also? They make pressure switches for this light. Home defense pistol or shotgun-mounted light, anybody? I\'m thinking yes. Yes, yes, and yes.

Little Wonder
This light is amazing for its size. We had a train derail 20 miles from my house and were driving by it for the first time last night. I was shining my light out the window at it and got pulled over and accused if spotlighting. Annoying but quite a compliment.

Somewhat disappointed, when I find it on in my pocket...
The light is extremely bright and the interface is intuitive, but the lockout does not keep the thing from turning on in my pocket. I appreciate that it doesn\'t require two hands to turn on, but hate the battery getting used up when not in real use. I understand the trade-off between ease of use and making it foolproof. The light has nearly everything else right.

Great improvement
I have 2 -T10 lights and now the S10. The first T10 was often too narrow a beam but worked well overall. The second has a wider more useful beam pattern most of the time but the switch did not allow it to stand on end. The S10 is the perfect size, brightness selections and has a general good size beam pattern. The flat bottom allows it to stand up nicely with a magnet that may be helpful at times (hopefully it will not damage credit cards as it is normally by my wallet). The switch control is much easier but is often turning on in my pocket, even when using the lock mode. I have turned the belt clip around and position it over the switch to keep it from turning on. Improve the on/off switch and add a some amount of beam width control and I would give it 6 stars

delete the magnet
I love the light, I use it to direct responding fire trucks to the proper location. However the magnet frequently hangs on to my key ring & falls off to the ground. I had to cut a wooden dowel & glue & tape to light
