Good light, good value

Not much to say---I bought it on sale, and for the price, it puts out good lumens. I keep it in a draw in my nightstand and have used it many times.

Needs a grip.

I took a rubber sleeve off a cheap flashlight and squeezed it onto this. Performance-wise, it's more than fine, just a little inconvenient without some sort of grip.

Super flashlight that leaves nothing to be desired

Needing a replacement flashlight (or a few), I bought 3 Powertac E30s because their specs looked excellent and the reviews were all positive. Upon delivery, I discovered they are even BETTER than I had hoped! So, I went back to Battery Junction to buy MORE. Unfortunately, your website said "No longer available" or words to that effect, even though it had been only a week or more since I ordered the first batch! Were they simply out of stock at Battery Junction *temporarily* or what? So, I went to the Powertac (the manufacturer) website, possibly to buy directly from them, but they said the same thing. It appeared this model has been discontinued. I was sorely disappointed, but glad I had at least 3 before the "window closed." But IMHO for this amazing unit to no longer being offered, somebody has seriously "Screwed The Pooch."
On an outside chance, I went to Amazon, hoping they might still have some in stock (even though presumably they would run out eventually). Amazon did, so I bought FIVE more! Now I have one of these excellent flashlights at *every* location around the house, garage, and in the cars where they may be needed.

Here is my review:
If you want a POWERFUL flashlight in a small package, this is it. You don't have to look any farther. The unit puts out more light than other flashlights 2 or 3 times its size. The case is metal (aluminum), not cheap plastic. The battery is rechargeable, which is a great money saver; and can be recharged some 2,000 times per its spec. The battery life is outstanding. It's waterproof. It's small enough to fit in a shirt pocket, but if you want to carry it tactically (like law enforcement or military), it fits *perfectly* in the Surefire grey, plastic, belt-slide holster, which I already had. The magnetic end cap is pure genius, since it allows for positioning the flashlight in place for you when doing some job all by yourself that requires both hands - in the dark. The included, optional wrist strap is a valuable accessory. Possibly the most valuable single feature is the fact the light output is controllable at six levels, including the max-output "strobe" effect, varying from "moonlight" to "looking directly at the Sun" brightness! This flexibility is excellent for any need. Also, bordering on genius, is the fact ALL of the flashlight functions are provided by a *single* button. Unlike Surefire flashlights which commonly require manually screwing down the endcap to get continuous light - or holding down the endcap button for momentary light - this single button gives you exactly the light you need simply and easily. This is expert electronic engineering. The light beam spread is at a large peripheral angle, BUT the brightest area is right at the center, which is perfect. As a retired professional engineer, I can't think of ANY way to improve this outstanding product. It fills every square for me! It's got every "bell and whistle" I could ask for.
As stated earlier, the battery life is excellent. However, the provided 18650 battery has 2600 mAH capacity. Larger capacity batteries, up to 3400 mAH, are available, so I bought some separately, so as to get a 30% longer life - before recharging is necessary. If you decide to do the same, just be sure to buy "protected"-type batteries.
The only criticism I have is NOT about the flashlight itself; it is the one-page User Instructions. They are muddled, poorly-written, and somewhat confusing. The Tech Writer who drafted them is an idiot. However, after simply playing with the unit for a while, pressing the single button either once *or* "press and hold", while the light in On *or* Off, you'll quickly figure out all the functions that happen under these four possibilities. It's not hard.
Be sure to FULLY charge the battery before using. It comes out of the box with a partial charge.
I used to think of Surefire flashlights as being the "Gold Standard" and have bought several over the years. No longer. This E30 is superior by any metric - and it goes for a FRACTION of similar Surefire flashlight prices.

Great product at a great value

The flashlight has a surprising brightness for its compact size. It gets hot if you have it on full power, but that is to be expected. Don't accidentally shine it in your eyes or you will see spots for a few hours

What is the capacity of the included battery, and are the run times based on that? Will other 18650 button top batteries also fit & work, such as my Olight 3400mah? Personal experience shows me that 18650 physical size is NOT standardized...
