This particular output has a 400-meter visibility and a runtime of up to 280 hours; however, with the effective flashing light, it's doubtful that you will need it for that long.  The Fenix HL05 runs on 2 CR2032 lithium coin cell batteries (included with purchase), which have a 10-year shelf life.  Not only are these batteries extremely lightweight and therefore easy to carry with you on a trek, but they are also incredibly easy to replace and are also affordable. A simple press will immediately change the output level.
