SureFire Fury LED Flashlight

SureFire's Fury is a more powerful, slightly larger version of their best-selling dual-output 6PX Pro. It features the same 15-lumen low-output beam that's perfect for tasks where too much light might compromise your dark-adapted vision, or situations in which extended runtime is a higher priority than maximum output. The Fury's high-output setting is an incredible 500 lumens, two-and-a-half times that of the Pro model. A larger reflector focuses all of this light forward to create a tight beam with plenty of reach that's perfect for searching, signaling, or lighting up a target far off in the distance. The Fury features a tough but lightweight hard-anodized aerospace aluminum body and an orientation-independent tailcap switch that controls output: press (for momentary-on) or click (for constant-on) once for low output; return to off then press or click again (within two seconds) for high.

Features and Specifications:
  • Virtually indestructible LED emitter regulated to maximize output and runtime
  • Two output levels: High for maximum light, Low for extended runtime
  • Precision micro-textured reflector creates a smooth, optimized beam
  • High-strength aerospace aluminum body, hard anodized for extreme durability
  • Weatherproof O-ring and gasket sealing
  • Output (Runtime):
    • High: 500 lumens (1.5 hours)
    • Low: 15 lumens (46 hours)

  • Weight (with batteries): 5.7 oz (161 g)

SureFire never disappoints
I placed an order for this flashlight a while ago and never made a review on it. I love SureFire lights I have plenty of them and can certainly see an improvement everytime something new is released. I've also placed an order on the p3x which is about 1000 lumen. The lighting is aweome I love the tint to the light and it always stands up to my hard working environments.

Its bright
I already have the E1e I bought in the 90`s I also have the E2 Defender Led and a G2. The E2 / E1 are better made than the PDX1 in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, the Fury is still rugged and well made. It produces the right amount of spill and throw for a handheld along with pistol. On the box it states not for weapons use. I think one could mount it on a semi auto AR15. I wish it had a strobe option; strobe mode first, then high. I do like my Nitecore SRT 5 more than my P2X Fury and it cost is lower.
ProsExcellent throw and spill for SD Cheaper than the E series like the E2 Defender and so on.
ConsNo strobe option! Not rated for weapons use

surefire fury
Probably the best tactical light I\'ve ever owned; sleek, easily managed & maintained. Just point and shoot! Along with Xlander, it would be nice if the Fury included a strobe/SOS feature.

Couldn\'t Turn it Down!
Quality and accuracy coupled with pleasing aesthetics and ease of use are typical Surefire characteristics, thus I laid my money down for their new 500 lumen offering with the added attraction of 8 free lithium 123\'s! I am going with 4-Stars because it would have been nice to have SF include a strobe/SoS on this light. I will add a star if it pans out to be one of my main torches.

Can this be used safely with rechargeable batteries? If so, which ones? Safely meaning without damage to the LED.
1 Answer
No, RCR123A rechargeable batteries are not compatible with the P2X Fury, as the LED can be permanently damaged.
