great idea to keep vehicle charged

great idea to keep vehicle charged, but the instructions that come with the unit say it can't be hooked to the vehicle when its running
I have to put it in a sleeve and disconnect it. my original intention was to mount it at the top of the windshield on the passenger side
still its great for leaving the vehicle for days at a time

Hello, After remaining in the sun plugged into the car during the day, do I unplug this at night or do I leave it plugged in at night?
1 Answer
Thank you for your inquiry. Either way is fine. This unit has a built in blocking diode to prevent reverse discharge

Does the 50012 solar maintainer provide over charge protection?
1 Answer
No, it does not provide over-charge protection, but at such a low charge current (it is a maintainer, a trickle charger), it should be fine to leave on a car/marine/ATV/etc battery
