30 Amp Digital Charge Controller

Maintenance free protection for your batteries and solar panels.

A Solar Charge controller regulates the voltage and current or amperage coming from the solar panels going to the battery and prevents the solar panel from overcharging 12V batteries. It also prevents reverse currents to panels during the night and regulates the voltage that comes from the solar panel which can vary with the sun conditions.

Great Charge Controller with Display
December 5, 2016
This charger is great. It can be used with lead acid or gel type batteries. Also, the display is great to show the production from your panels. You can see the amperage throughout the day to see how the panels are performing from the amount of sunlight they are receiving. I found this very helpful in my initial panel setup to find the ideal positions for my panels. It seems to be a quality product and is performing well.

This item is essential for my solar panels. I continually check the wattage to maintain batteries. This is the second one I have had. The other one somehow lost the digital readout, but it still maintained the batteries. Is there a way to repair it? Thanks for the best price and quick shipping. Very happy with your product.

How many 15W solar panels can / should you add to this controller?

The 30 Amp Solar Charge Controller has a maximum input of 450 Watts from a solar array and is designed for a 12 volt system only. 12 volt nominal output solar panels should be connected in parallel to keep the voltage at 12 volts.

Not having much information to go on, here is my suggestion. If you have a 15 watt solar panel (I'm thinking you have a HF solar panel) It should put out about 1 amp. That being said, in perfect conditions, if you have the HF solar kit, that is 45 watts 3 amps. So, basically you could put 30 panels on it if they only put out 1 amp each. I would not recommend this though. I would only go up to about 20 amps on this charge controller. I say this because sometimes, a panel will put out more than what it is rated at. And you do not want to fry your equipment. If you are planing on having a system with 30 amps out put, you should go with a bigger charge controller than this one. Just my opinion.
