It has a maximum output of 570 Lumens!!

Fully Adjustable

Let's face it, you know what you want in your flashlight - and this light is one of the most customizable lights Sunwayman can offer. The V11R-XML2 gives you a fully adjustable 360° magnetic rotator ring. This ring lets you determine the light output with a maximum 570 Lumens to a minimum 1 Lumen. Letting you choose your optimal output for any number of tasks. Additionally, there is an optional AA extender that allows you to power your flashlight with a AA Alkaline battery. There are very few flashlights that allow you to have this much say in the light that you carry, making the V11R-XML2 a great every-day-carry.

Durable Construction

The Sunwayman V11R-XML2 has a finely crafted aerospace aluminum body that is completed with Type III hard anodized finish. This baby is IPX-8 dust and waterproof rated and it comes with an additional O-ring that will help keep your light sealed against harsh weather. It is a grand-slamming' combination of features and construction, that'll help prepare you for your next adventure.

Note: Do not run the light continuously at this max mode for more than 5 minutes.

good size,,,not too small, not too big. Infinite variabilty (great moonlight setting - all the way to 500lumens+). Is able to stand on tail. Pair this light with a USB rechargeable battery and you have a light for just about any job and no bulky charger to carry with you

Easy Adjustability

The best feature of this light is its ability to adjust the output without having to click through different brightness levels to get what you need. We've all done this - clickit, clickit, clickit, too bright, clickit, clickit, bright enough? Not sure, clickit, too bright, clickit, clickit, good, stop. This doesn't happen with this light.

Great Light, but Reflector Quality Has Slipped

I just purchased my second V11R in 3-1/2? years of nightly use at a hotel resort in Hawaii. Repeated drops onto hard rock floors eventually were the first v11's undoing. I like it enough to buy another, but turning it on the first time, i immediately noticed that the light beam of the new one has artifact-imperfections that the original never had. The quality of the reflector is not as good as it was a few years ago. Still, it is a great light, and puts out a nice amount of light for its size. Perfect size to hang from a carabiner with your car keys, but prepare for the finish to become "antiqued" in a hurry. Also, keep a couple of spare batteries if you are expecting a lot of overnight use at high intensity. If the heat sink on the light is getting hot to the touch, you will know it is time to turn it down. If the light is turned to a modest intensity- not very bright, but not super low- it will last most of an eight hour shift without having to change the battery. But crank it up, and you'll be using 2-3 of the rechargeable lithium ion batteries in one night. I also have the battery extender, which works well (as long as you keep both threaded ends of it tight) and allows use of 14500 type 3.7 volt lithium batteries (which last about as long as the RCR 123's) and also AA's, which aren't nearly as bright (1.5volts.), but last a LOT longer. I have also found that over time, the ring that adjusts the brightness becomes "loose" , but if you unscrew the lens, and pack the inside of the adjustment ring with Nyogel 760G grease (expensive), it won't feel floppy for about a year or so. The Nyogel is also excellent for lubricating the O-rings..I never had to use the spare o-ring that came with the original light. Also, with a bit of fiddling and cursing, this light will just fit in the clamp of a Fenix headband...VERY handy when you need both of your hands free.
Pros
  • Compact size. There are flashlights that make more light, but they are MUCH larger.
Cons
  • Eats batteries quickly, won't take occasional 4' drops for more than a few years.

I was trying to buy a very bright light - and found the lowest setting (1 lumen) is the most useful around a dark campsite, preserving night vision. I've given up my red LED lights for astronomy as too bright in comparison. Works great, long battery life on lower settings.
Pros
  • Very wide, continuous range of light output. Nice switch. Easy to set the output level before turning on the light.
Cons
  • The maximum output of 570 lumens is only possible with a 16340 battery. Normal maximum is 216 lumens using a 123 battery. Output level ring can shift when carried in a pocket.

Wondering about the line in description just after the line explaining alternate use of a regular AA battery that says: Do not run in max mode for more than 5 minutes does this pertain to max mode when using a regular AA battery to get the 200 or so lumes or does the note pertain to max mode (500 or so lumes) when using the 123 battery etc.? Thank you, I look forward to your response.

This pertains to the 570 lumens output. For user safety and to prevent overheating / failure, the V11R will automatically cut out after three minutes of use at its highest level of output.

570 lumens is achieved by using a rechargeable Li-Ion 14500 or 16340. Primary AA and CR123 batteries will produce 190 lumens, but will have a bit of a longer runtime compared to the Li-Ion batteries.
