The V11R is a revolutionary compact Every Day Carry (EDC). Its versatile design can run on a single CR123A or a 16340 battery cell.

The V11R employs SUNWAYMAN's unique Magnetic Control Ring in conjunction with a fully variable circuit meaning with a simple twist of the wrist, the beam will smoothly transition from 1 to up to 500 lumens (Do not run at maximum output for more than 5 minutes). The variable output circuit guarantees that you will find the optimal output and runtime for any situation.

Compact design, exquisitely machined aerospace grade aluminum, and a durable, practical pocket clip make this an ideal EDC or a back-up light for emergencies or hiking trips. A smooth and durable rubber tail switch comes installed with the V11R for optimum performance.

As though this light wasn't versatile enough, an optional AA extender allows your V11R to be powered by a single inexpensive and widely available Alkaline AA battery.

Bought as Back Up; Used as Primary!
August 10, 2012
The V11R was bought because of its small size. It can be hidden in my closed hand. The V11R is small enough to comfortably wear around the neck on a lanyard.
The flexibility of the infinite lumen adjustment makes other lights obsolete to me. This is now my go to light, I have given away the myriad of other lights I own.
The optional AA extender also provides greater functionality when on extended excursions away from electricity, as it allows the user to use AA batteries.
One thing, I have no way to scientifically measure, but I do not see 500 lumens of output in turbo mode when using a 16340 battery; when compared to the 190 lumen output from a CR123A or a AA battery in max mode. It just does not look 2.5 times brighter to me. Even with that slight I would highly recommend the V11R over any other single cell light!

Awesome - amazing power/features in a tiny package
June 2, 2012
This is the ultimate pocket size flashlight in every way I can imagine. The raw power is huge (I purchased 3.7 V protected li-ion RCR123 and charger just to run in this light to get the benefit of the max. output). The beam pattern for me is the perfect blend of spot & flood and has a butter smooth transition between the two. While this light and a Fenix TK35 and the only high-tech lights that I own, I have played with friend\'s lights and the models REI stocks in-store and most small lights seem to be flawed with hot-spots, rings, and/or no throw whatsoever. Fully adjustable power feature is just like it says, and I love it.

I\'m a newbie when it comes to high-tech LED flashlights, so it took loads of www surfing and a call to Battery Junction to fully understand the various battery choices for the V11R before this purchase. The VR11R is way expensive for its size but for me worth every penny.

I\'m giving it 5 stars; 7 because I like this light so much more than what I could have imagined from something so small. Then, I\'m taking away 1 point for the lanyard cord - the metal claw and hefty cord are poorly matched to this tiny, pocket-sized light. And, I\'m taking off another point for not including a small leather pouch that should have been though of and included for professionals to carry this in their pockets without rubbing against keys, etc The included velcro pouch should still be included too for those wanting to carry it from their belt; I\'m just suggesting adding the pocket size pouch too.

Thank you Battery Junction and Sunwayman for providing my \"dream light\"!

Sunwayman, you should add a model to your line that is just like the V11R but longer (or provide a longer extender tube option) so it could take the much more popular 3.7 V protected 18650 cells. Even though this is more size and weight, I would have preferred to have just one size of li-ion rechargeable battery in my life.

Finally, I should mention that the V11R I received last week came just the way I wanted it set up based on reading various reviews of this light - the rubber on/off button was installed and a metal button was included too in the box.

Awesome Customer support too!

My review of this light you can see below but I felt I needed to add to it. You see just two weeks ago I received a package from BJ here completely unexpectedly and opened it to find the rubber switch kit for my light. Since mine did not come with the optional switch that it really needed desperately (in my opinion) I was quite happy to see it and installed it immediately. Now the light is truly awesome! Thanks Sunwayman for making such a great little light and THANK YOU Battery Junction for making it awesome!!!

Great light

Perfect size, feels good in your hand, easy to operate, use the 16340 battery to make it a special light. Doesn\'t seem to make the 500 lumens as the focus could be a little tighter. Still a class A light well worth the money.

Awesome light!

I recently purchased one of the first run of this light. On the SWM website this model is now shipping with two tailcaps, a metal and a rubber one. This is good as I would prefer the rubber cap over the metal one. Initially I had problems with the metal cap scraping and binding while attempting to use it sometimes resulting in it sticking in the on position. Fortunately there is a rubber boot under the metal cap which maintains the water protection even without the cap. Minimum output is low enough that I can stare into the beam indefinitely, while maximum is not 500 OTF lumens...it\'s still tactically blinding. The control ring is smooth while still requiring a bit of effort to rotate...perfect for an EDC combat light. Amazing little light that is a perfect companion for daily carry.

What has replaced this light? Are they updating to a different emitter?

At this time there hasn't been any news for the V-Series lights. Here is a link to the rest of the Sunwayman V-Series flashlights that we carry.
