The LightStar series from TerraLUX is a diverse and exciting line that offers everything you want from a light you'll use every day, but with build standards and outputs that you might not expect from an AA powered light. The LightStar 300 is one of the coolest lights that we carry here at Battery Junction. You're getting a light powered by two convenient, easily purchasable AA batteries, that still pumps out 300 lumens of light and 24 hours of continuous use on Low mode.

A Work Light With Personality

Good for Walking the Dog but Tough Enough for Emergency Use

AA lights are ideal for using around the house because everyone's comfortable with AAs. This light is going to be used constantly by the wife, kids, gandma and grandpa - keep it simple, accessible, and familiar (and save the more extravagant torches for yourself). That doesn't mean you want some cheep $5 light from down the street though. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find such a sturdy, well made, and bright AA flashlight as the TerraLUX LightStar 300. The slightly textured reflector produces a beam pattern that is intentionally short range - super bright, in a large area, but without long throw, making it the perfect choice for technicians and mechanics who need proper illumination on their entire work area.

The LightStar 300 offers the perfect beam pattern for working on the job or on your home, and is constructed with the perfect materials to have a light that will last you a lifetime. Don't worry about protecting your light from water or debris, these things come with the territory for hard working men and women, and you need a light that can keep up. The LightStar 300's housing is made with aircraft grade aluminum and is O-ring sealed for maximum protection from the elements. The simple and intuitive interface allows for single handed operation - the full press tail-switch for On/Off functionality and half-press to switch between Low and High mode. With 24 hours of runtime on the 100 lumen low mode, you won't have to be constantly replacing batteries. 24 hours of continuous use is a lot of days at work, and a lot of nights walking the dog before you even have to think about replacing the batteries, and when you do need to replace the batteries the LightStar 300's beam will slowly blink in order to let you know, so you can stay prepared. This package includes a detachable pocket clip, super comfortable lanyard, and two AA batteries so you'll be good to go right out of the box! Plus an optional holster is available in Nylon and Leather giving you more options to carry the LightStar 300 than you'll know what to do with.

Best General Purpose work Light
Terralux lightstar 300 is best light for my inspectors and crew foremen I've found. Dependable bright and cheap to keep operating. We use this to see roof past the high intensity industrial ceiling lights. Will buy more, project superintendents ask for one once they see us use it. Excellent product.
ProsDependable and tough.
ConsNone for us. Would like to see 400 lumen version

Great work light
I have not had this light very long. One week. So at this point I can not give an accurate review. But the time I have had it, being a mechanic it has held up so far. My only problem is the power button at least once a day does not turn on. I have to press it about 5 or 6 times before it starts working.
ProsGood pocket flashlight Bright high mode
ConsIntermittant power button. Doesnt work all the time

I'm not a flashlight aficionado, but I give these a thumbs up
I used these at work, working on cars for years - finally got some for home, They are very, durable, bright, and use 2 AA batteries which are convenient, and last a long time. Light is white LED - 300 lumens
ProsVery Durable Has a dim setting for situations where full power is not needed Uses AA Batteries
ConsNone that I can think of

Nice EDC or trunk light
I bought a couple of these to leave in the truck and car. The light functions very nicely, switches modes with a light tap of the switch. More of a flood beam but lights up an area very well. If your looking for a tactical light or search with distance, this is not it. But if your looking for a dependable edc or something to leave in car, or one for a couple rooms in the home. This is it, pretty solid light for the money
ProsNice construction Good working switch Wide flood beam Price
ConsCould be a little brighter, but it isn't bad either

Quality and dependable TerraLUX 300
I've bought over 70 of this flashlight. It is our go to light for our techs and inspectors. They meet and exceed our requirements. Good beam. Like the AA battery power. Easy to obtain without spending big money like a 123 battery cost out on the road. Clients ask for one of these for their use, when available we give them one or tell them to contact Battery Junction on Internet.
ProsAll positive. Will buy more.
ConsNone. Completely happy with this light.

Absolute Best Value
I own many flashlights, most of which i bought from Battery Junction. The Terralux Is one of my favorites. I own 5 and give one to everyone in my family when we go camping. 2 power modes make this light very versatile and it's powered by "AA" batteries which I also like.

Works Well
Crappy Chinese O-ring. Broke immediately. Had to replace. Other than that, it works fine with AA batteries.
ProsWell made. Extremely bright. Easy to use button operation. No annoying SOS or strobe functions.
ConsNo focus adjustment (which may actually be a plus). Crappy Chinese O-ring.

Good to have as a work light, comes with battery, pocket clip, lwrist yard, not really 300 lumens more like 150 lumens but nice to have and small enought to always keep on car, the switch needs to be a clicky but ok otherwise

Has never failed to turn on
I'm a night crawling Medic so I need my flashlight to be dependable. I've been using my Lightstar 300 for at least 2 years (I've lost track). I can't remember a time when it has ever failed to turn on. Even with low batteries it still produces usable light. On the bright setting I can survey my scene. On the low setting, I can check out my patient without blinding them. I'm glad I have this light!

Quality light
It puts out a bright even light. Works well as a every day and emergency home light, provides more than enough light if the power goes out. It's a solid light and the orange color makes it easier to find if you have misplaced it. Doesn't have a tight hot spot, if you want a bright hot spot try the pro 3 (280 lumens).
Prosruns n AA's, bright light, color, price, size

Nice looking package. Dissapointing distance but wide focus
I bought this light because it was shown to be 300 lumen, but when tried out side by side with the 80 lumen, I liked the 80 better. We live in the country and beam distance is very important. This 300 lumen was a wide focus beam and did not reach out as far as my 80 lumen light. For me, the long beam of the 80 was more suited for my use, Now if I was in town the wide cone of the 300 lumen may be a more appropriate light to use. The description did not give the cone width or the spot distance.
ProsVery nice package , lights a large area but not to far out would be very good for camping or in town at night lighting up a large space.
ConsThe only con in a personal peeve of mine, as I like a long distance spot and not a short wide light . I noted below that I would recommend to a friend based on if they wanted a light that would light a wide area , but would not recommend if they wanted a long distance spot.

Great everyday carry light
Nice sturdy compact flashlight with a bright light for its size.
Pros1. Very rugged - can be dropped occasionally with no ill effects. 2. Uses easily obtainable AA alkaline batteries. 3. Puts out a flood pattern for wide illumination.
ConsOne downside, if you can call it that - the light has a more greenish tint than the same version I purchased several years ago. I prefer the whiter light.

I bought a gray one about 8 months ago due to the previous purchase of a Terralux about 3 years ago.I love the dual switch button that, with a tap, switches from 100 to 300 lumens and back. This thing is made like iron too. I don\'t get the complaints about light output. My Terralux set on 300 lumens illuminates my entire yard which is 220\' x 60\".I just bought 3 more for myself and son.

I like it a lot
About perfect for around the house, in the truck, in the shop and in the back pack. Whatever the lumen count ---- the bright level is plenty bright enoough for my uses. They are simple and they work. I\'ve bought 7 of them.

I have this light over a year now and use it regularly. I even purchased a few as gifts for friends and family. Nice bright white light. you won\'t be disappointed.

Agreed, NO WAY it\'s 300 lumens
I bought this for my wife thinking she\'d prefer the 2x AA light for her purse. I picked up a little NexTorch for my daughter in the same order, almost one year ago. That NexTorch 2x-AA light was rated at 140 lumens and it is brighter than this light... and the other light can\'t be more than 40 lumens or so because my old technology SureFire 6P is brighter than both of these and it is only rated at 65 lumens. A person gets to expect a little \"fudging\" on the numbers, but COME ON!, this is not anywhere near a 300 lumen light and is way overpriced for what it is.

I like it -- a good value
A good, heavy duty, bright light. The lower level is great around the house and has long runtime I like the 2 brightness levels - well thought out! More than 2 levels are too many for me. I ordered a second one for the truck.

No Way It\'s 300 Lumens
I bought a Nitecore MT2A at the same time I bought this LiteStar. The Nitecore MT2A is rated at 280 Lumens and blows this TerraLux\'s doors off. This TerraLux TLF-3002AA-BK is probably more like 140-150 lumen\'s, rather than 300.

Amazing light!
My first Terralux was purchased on a whim here at BJ. It worked so well that when I saw a special sale on the higher powered model I bought two. Clean white light and can easily toggle between 100 and 300 lumins just by tapping the switch button. Great on batteries too! Solid as a rock, these things are a must have. I ALWAYS carry one.

great flashlight
I use this light daily at work, its bright and durable.ive dropped it multiple times on the concrete floor and it still works flawlessly.I\'m not really concerned about whether or not it really puts out 300 lumens, its more than bright enough for what i need it for.

Lumans way off
I have many flashlights from 200 to 6000 Lumens and as best as I can tell, this Terralux puts out less then 200 lumens on high. I know some folks have been debating the reflector design, but my wide angle Surefire rated at 200 lumens blows the Terralux away.

not 300 lumens
Just opened this light and it is clearly not 300 lumens with 2 new Duracell batteries. I would guess the beam/brightness looks to be about 160 lumens. It is not as bright as my Fenix PD20, which is 180 lumens. I like the clip, lanyard, and blue color, but beam is not worth the price. Disappointed.

Nicely made, but dimmer than lower lumen Klarus
Compared a Klaras xt2a245 lumen to this 300 Lumen terrlalux, and it is much dimmer. I will be gifting this to a friend and buy another model for myself. Both lights well made, but more power and features in the Klarus

Let\'s keep it simple. I have my Olight T20V2010 in my left hand (its box clearly claims 270 lumens) and my Terralux Lightstar 300 in my right, both at full power, projecting on a wall 40\' away. The T20 is so much brighter it is just silly and hopelessly irresponsible for Terralux to claim 300 lumens - at any price. I have happily purchased many Terralux upgrades for Mags, so I was a fan of the firm. But this light is an insult to me and Battery Junction.

I beg to differ.
I do have the 220 lumen flashlight and although the 300 puts out a wider pattern. There is no doubt that it is brighter, I tested this in pitch black, and I could put my 220 in my 300 and I can move the 300 light beam over the 220 and will outshine that. Maybe it\'s the quality of the batteries you using, there is not a great deal of change. But actually this 300 throws out a wider pattern lights up more area and am very happy with it, you can\'t beat the price of these, you want to go for cree, then you have to pay for it. I have one for my house and one for my car. That\'s why I bought 300, I will use the 300 in my car in case you have to go into the woods work on my car or whatever it does throw out a lot more light and I do believe it is what it says it is. Thank you
