Description
Titanium Innovations 3AA to 1D Parallel Battery Adapter

The Titanium Innovations 3AA to 1D adapter puts three AA-size batteries in parallel to boost capacity. These adapters are normally used with rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries to take the place of a D cell in a flashlight, such as a Maglite. Now you can use the rechargeable AAs you already have to power your flashlight.

Quality product
This seems well built and easy to use. The batteries slide in from the sides and swap out easily. Having three AA in a D cell holder should give plenty capacity.
ProsQuality and ease of use.
ConsExpensive

Alternative to Spendy D Cells
I only use rechargeable Ni-MH batteries and the D size ones have begun to fail. Considering the replacement cost of these, ~$7.50, It seemed better to buy this adapter at $5 each and use my Sanyo AA batteries. I used about 15 of these adaptors during the recent holidays without any problems. They are well made and with reasonable care should last for years. I don't think I would have tried them at the Regular price of $20 or even at the current sale price of $10. Wait for the $5 dollar sale before getting them.
Prosability to use a very economical, common cell size AA
ConsCurrent Cost,,, wait for real sale

Great option for using AA batteries in D cell devices
We have several of the UST LED 30 day lanterns. I wanted to keep one stored with batteries at all times, but with the propensity of Alkaline batteries to leak all over everything these days, I couldn't do that without risking destroying the lantern. Then I found these Titanium Innovations Parallel AA adapters. They're perfect! I use the Lithium Ion AA batteries in them and now I store a lantern ready to go any time I need one.
ProsAllows you to use AA batteries where you need a D-cell at 1.5v, with a reasonable capacity trade off.

Good build quality, but taller than a D cell
These are well made adapters - very sturdy, and they hold the AA cells securely without exceeding an appropriate diameter. Unfortunately, unlike the single-AA Eneloop D adapters, they are several millimeters taller than an alkaline D cell, which makes for a tight fit in many cases.

In the case of the Coleman CPX 6 lantern, these do not fit at all.
ProsWell made. Sturdy. Good diameter.
ConsToo tall.
