Description

The Trustfire 16340 batteries are a replacement for standard CR123A batteries in many applications. Sometimes called an RCR123A or Rechargeable CR123A, these cells may be longer than a standard CR123A. Caution must be exercised when using these cells, as they are 3.6V, not 3.0V as is a standard CR123A. The length of the cells are longer than a standard CR123A (up to 1-2 mm longer), so if you're using 2 in series be aware that this extra length will be doubled (up to 4-6 mm) and the cells will be outputting 7.2V(8.4V peak). These are the right choice if you're using them in an LED flashlight known to fit this type of cell - otherwise, we recommend our Tenergy cells linked below.

  • Rechargeable CR123A Li-Ion Batteries with 3.6V working voltage and advertised 880mAh capacity.
  • Can be recharged up to 500 times.
  • PCB protection against: Over-Discharge, Over-Charge & Short Circuit.
  • Dimensions*: 36 mm Height x 17 mm Diameter (+/- 1 mm) (Note: Longer than a standard CR123A battery, may not fit all devices that use CR123A's)

No express or implied guarantee of compatibility with any device can be made. Please do your research and make sure that this battery is compatible with the item you intend to use with. For SureFire and other brands of incandescent(halogen, krypton, xenon, etc.) flashlights we do not recommend these batteries unless you're using them in a manner consistent with the voltage requirements of your lamp. Charge only in a smart charger designed for 3.6V Lithium Ion batteries. Do not mix and match old and new, used and unused batteries. Do not dispose in a fire. Use special caution when working with Li-ion cells, they are very sensitive to charging characteristics and may explode or burn if mishandled. Make sure the user has enough knowledge of Li-Ion rechargeable batteries in charging, discharging and assembly before use. Always charge in/on a fire-proof surface. Never leave charging batteries unattended. We are not responsible for damage if there is any modification of the batteries/chargers in any form or shape (including pack making). We are not responsible for any damage caused by misuse or mishandling of Li-Ion batteries and chargers. We only recommend using Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries with a control circuit (protection PCB) to assure safe charge, discharge, etc., use of lithium ion batteries with a protection circuit is potentially hazardous

* Please note size; may not fit all devices.

to long to use in some lights
June 30, 2022
As stated due to the over charge protection circuit these batteries are to long to use in some flashlights and other applications, also although they are rated at 880mah most of them only charged to around 790~800 mah according to my test charger. these where bought to replace older batteries that have long since died on me and so far its not looking to bright for these.

Too long

This battery is not the standard size for a 16340. I tried them in three different brands of weapon lights that has a door/latch for the battery compartment and none would close. You will probably be ok if your flashlight has a screw on cap. I talked with customer service about this issue and they are aware of the size difference.

Not up to 16340 specs
November 9, 2019
They are advertising this battery as a 16340. That number has a significance. It stands for 16mm in diameter by 34.0mm long.
Beware!....these batteries are larger than standard 16340s in both dimensions.
They are 1mm larger in diameter and 2mm longer in length.
This may not seem like a big deal, but if you are intending them to fit into a holder that is designed for actual 16340s, you may be SOL!
They do have the dimensions, measured in inches, listed in the spec chart on the web page for these batteries but I never thought that i would need to double-check the dimensions of something that has a dimension as part of its name....

The batteries we are replacing is a rechargeable CR123A 3.6V 700 mAh Lith Ion. I don't understand the terminology so - Would the 880 mAh designation be a significant reason to replace with the Ultrafire? I was told that just means it will last longer - is that correct?
1 Answer
Yes, the mAh capacity does determine how long a battery will last. The Ultrafire 880mAh RCR123A is definitely an upgrade from the non rechargeable CR123A. We also offer a Tenergy RCR123A 900mAh Battery, which should keep you covered.
