Designed for easy access while commuting, this unit plugs into your vehicle's cigarette lighter and easily sits beside you to act as an armrest. Can this actually be used like a freezer? I have some medicines that need to be always frozen and I am going to be taking a cross country road trip. Will this consistently freeze my medicine?

Thank you for your inquiry. I am afraid that this unit is not a freezer and would not be good at keeping your medications frozen. Cooling range: 40°F-45°F (4°C~7°C) below room temperature. This would not keep your medications frozen at that temperature.

Can this item be plugged into a standard household AC plug?

Thank you for your inquiry. This unit comes with a DC adapter and is not meant to be used with AC power. It is meant to be used in your vehicle and plugged into the DC adapters in your vehicle.
