Description

Fenix BC25R

600 Lumen Lightweight Bicycle Light

The Fenix BC25R is the latest in Fenix's line of high performance, compact lights for urban cycling. Outfitted with a neutral white CREE XP-G3 LED, the BC25R can reach up to 600 Lumens with adjustable light levels and a utility flashing mode. Each of these functions is controlled by a single top-mounted switch that is easy to use when stopped or while in motion. A quick release mount makes taking the light with you, foregoing the frustration of a more complicated locking system. On top of all that, BC25R comes with an integrated Li-ion battery pack and is Micro-USB rechargeable, no need to fuss with replacement batteries!

Anti-Glare Design

For cycling in urban areas or during a commute, there's no light more prepared than the BC25R. A unique anti-glare design keeps the light emitted pointed level and below, preventing flashing in the eyes of pedestrians and motor vehicles. While on an evening ride you certainly need to see in front of you, impairing the vision of oncoming traffic could spell disaster! Keeping the light low and level will keep you and those around you safe and informed.

Good Battery and easy to remove

"I've used this product three times now, once in the pouring rain (Used the flashing light for 2. 5hrs), once on a cold morning (light ran at high beam for the full 3hrs), and the third a quick out and back in moderate traffic (Used the flashing light 1hr). The attachment mechanism is great. Easy to remove and replace so you can have the mount in place and move the light for charging."

Perfect for city riding at night

"I bought this to replace an older light that required NiMH batteries (the holder kept breaking, and there is no proper replacement). The biggest demerit in this light is that there is no replaceable battery pack, so rotating them (or replacing them when they go bad) is not possible. Otherwise, this is just about perfect for city commuting at night. It has enough light to be visible from a good distance, and to see road hazards, but not enough to blind oncoming motorists. (It is adjustable. ) The battery run time is decent--it dropped to 3 (out of 4) bars after 2 nights of use (about 30 minutes per) in winter conditions. And it is easy to mount--taking less than 5 minutes to mount the bracket, and a few seconds to place the light on the mount. I would not recommend this for night trail usage (because you would need more output), but for most road commuting, this is just fine. This purchase is quite recent, so durability is unknown. However, with other Fenix products, they have held up quite nicely (aside from battery holders designed to last only a few months before becoming unreliable, or their wires breaking after a year or so). I know that lithium ion batteries are not exactly as durable as NiMH batteries (which can be replaced quite easily), and that I cannot use alkaline batteries in the event of an emergency as I could with the other light. Time will tell if, say after a few years, I am able to get decent run time with this battery pack."

Great Bike Headlight

"I have several different Fenix bike lights, and this one is probably the most appropriate for a road bike. It is more slender, and throws the light up and farther out than the others, which are designed for mountain biking. It is bright, and has an even light distribution. It is easy to slide off the mount for recharging. The only thing I would like better is for it to use a replaceable battery, instead of the built-in battery pack. Not sure if there is a way to replace this battery pack when it wears out."
