Insert, Detect, and Charge

Introducing the D4 Digicharger from Nitecore, a sophisticated and efficient four-channel battery charger. The sleek and informative charger is compatible with a wide variety of battery sizes and chemistries. Capable of charging four batteries simultaneously, the D4 is capable of charging everything from Lithium-Ion, to LiFePO4, to NiMh, to NiCd chemistries, and automatically detects the battery type and status before entering automatic charge mode (CC, CV, dV/dt). The D4 Digicharger also automatically detects battery power status and selects the appropriate voltage and charge mode, with the exception of LiFePO4. You will have to manually select LiFePO4. Also, gone are the days where you have to sit around and wait for the battery to finish charging, as an automatic power-off function will cut off the current when charging is complete.

The D4 Digicharger is equipped with informative LCD display to give you vital information, right when you need it. The crystalline LCD display reveals the charging progress, battery type, voltage, charging current, and charging time in an easy-to-read and intuitive detail. Charging batteries has never been easier, with an awesome design, cutting edge features, and an informative display, the D4 Digicharger is the one charger to rule them all. The Digicharger is also available in a two-channel model (the D2).

Will the Nitecore Digicharger D4 4-Channel Smart Battery Charger for Li-ion, Ni-Cd, and NiMH Batteries, charge 4- 26650 batteries at once ????
It does charge NiCd, NiMh, Li-Ion and LiFePO4 batteries. I do not believe that it can charge 26650's in all four bays and it is usually the outer two bays that can handle the larger batteries, which would include the 26650 batteries.
Does this charger come with the 12V Cigarette Charger cord

Just got my D4 charger and some fresh 18650 batteries. So far so good! I also recharged some of my current batteries to put it through its paces. One comment and question - the Samsung 26J 18650 2600mAh 3.7V Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) Protected Button Top Battery was a standout for low charge as received, charging it up now. Also, I noticed it is in CC (vs. CV for the other batteries being charged at the same time and nearly full while the Samsung was still early in its charging curve). The manual doesn't say anything really about how CC vs. CV is selected, or even what the acronyms stand for. Can you explain?
The D4 will automatically select the charging mode based on the voltage it detects when the battery is inserted. The switch from CC to CV should be automatic as the battery charges. This is more so for Li-Ion batteries. A Ni-MH battery will follow a different charge mode where it is looking for a dip in voltage once the battery is full. That is what the dV/dt mode is (dV/dt = change in Voltage / change in time). One more note: protected Li-Ion batteries typically do take longer to charge from my experiences battery testing. The protection circuit has over-charge protection so it may limit the current going to the battery.

Yes, the Nitecore D4 can charge the Ultrafire 18650's.
