Fenix pulled out all the stops to make the RC05 especially indispensable for campers, hikers, and explorers. It's designed to live in the damp and the dirt, minimize your kit size, and integrate seamlessly into the USB charging system you already carry for your devices. With a small form factor that's only slightly bigger than most keychain lights, the RC05 blasts out an impressive 300 lumens. The innovative magnetic charging system means there are no delicate ports to cover or keep dry. A magnetic tail lets it "stick" to metallic surfaces so you can have a fixed beam, while the dual-position body clip helps you attach it to your clothing in a variety of ways. The switch is positioned for easy one-hand operation, allowing you to work with your free hand while you aim. If the included rechargeable 14500 battery dies and you're unable to recharge it, you can swap in a standard AA battery. There's even a lockout feature to prevent it from accidentally activating while stowed.
Magnetic Charging Means No Vulnerable Ports
The RC05's charging cable is a clever combination of a regular micro USB adapter, and a circular metal "button" that clicks into a magnetic port on the flashlight. Recharging your battery is as easy as sticking two magnets together! Because there is no exposed circuitry on the body of the flashlight, you don't have to worry about water or gunk getting inside. There are no annoying rubber port covers that can pop open, disintegrate, or be forgotten in a hurry. A handy LED indicator on the cable flashes green while the RC05 is charging, and goes solid green when the battery is full. And the same cable can be used to charge your other micro USB devices, so all you need to do is swap the RC05's cable in place of your current travel adapter.
Waterproof, Fallproof, and Resilient
Fenix knows how to build a rugged flashlight. The RC05 is impact resistant to 1 m, so it can take some serious spills with no damage. And it can be fully submerged under 2 m of water, earning it the highest possible waterproof rating of IPX-8. Use the integrated tail magnet to go hands-free, and attach the RC05 to tent poles, car hoods, or other metal surfaces. And the dual-position body clip is perfect for attaching to hat brims, backpack straps, and MOLLE fields.
