One Button, One Smart Circuit
Features the Smart Freedom Circuit that allows the body switch to have multiple functionality. This one button controls: instant On/Off, brightness modes, demo mode, 3 strobe beacons, automatic SOS, signal (morse code) mode, and the 3 minute timer mode. The demo mode is to quickly cycle through the different modes for new users and then automatically turns itself off to save power.

"The Photon X-Micro incorporates the clever, advanced function of the Photon Freedom series in a lower-cost package. No accessory lanyard or hat swivel-clip, more limited LED colors, snap-together construction, and no IPX certification statement allow for the lower-cost; Press to Ramp Up from Off and Ramp Down from a very bright full On make for a capable microlight - pick your ideal brightness for the situation. Same clip as with LRI's other Photon lights for your keyring, and for many models, a glow-in-the-dark button (not the greatest persistence) complete the package. As the description says, everyone in the family will want one. Makes for a nice stocking stuffer (box is a bit large for that, though). Like the Freedom or other advanced electronics micro-lights, there is a low standby drain. Likely with casual, infrequent use you may get years of operation from a set of CR2016's. . . that has been my experience with one bought years ago. When you think most uses are for well under one minute of illumination, 12 hours on full bright runtime likely gives over 1000 30 second presses - even more if dimmed. This year's purchases are for gifts."

"I am now on my second Photon X-Micro, I left one in a rental car by mistake. I bought my first on an impulse, now If I don't have this on my keychain, Im not ready to face the world. A very bright light for its size. This light is one of the most technologically advanced lights available. Hold the button down from off to slowly increase brightness from nothing, or click the switch once for full brightness then hold the button down to dim the light from full bright to a suitable level. Strobe speed is adjustable, S-O-S, momentary on mode (Morse code), and a three minute setting so if the light is turned on by accident in your pocket, it will turn off after three minutes. Easy to replace battery, quality construction. An instant classic."
