Safe Design
Nitecore understands that safe use of a battery is just as important as the battery's production. Designed with safety in mind, the NL1834 features nickel-plated S.S. protectors at both ends that give the cell superior impact resistance, better electrical conductivity and quality oxidation resistance. To prevent against abrasions and other external damage, the cells are coated with a durable metallic film, while its protection circuit is coated with hard plastic. The battery features a unique anode that is designed to resist high temperatures, as well as a micro-porous barrier on the interior that protects the delicate internal components. The cell even comes with a specialized pressure relief valve that will activate in the event the battery experiences rapid temperature increase.

Holds Charge
"Being without a charged Flashlight is at best a nuisance and at worst potentially lethal. Out in the country, where I live, we get a variety of nighttime visitors. Not just the occasional stray dog dumped by urbanites but Coyotes, Bear and even Cougar (of the 4 legged variety). So, while regular batteries are OK, these are much better."
Best rechargeable battery I have used - well worth the cost
"I use a high power headlamp that has a single Cree XHP70 LED - 4,000 lumens (the largest Cree LED available in a headelam). It's now powered by 3 Nitecore NL1834 18650 3400Mh protected lithium ion button top batteries. The 3 Garberiel 3000mah batteries that came with the headlamp are junk compared to the Nitecore batteries. I might get 30 minutes of useable light from the Garberiels, but get 2-3 hours from the Nitecores. In the dark, my headlamp on a focused beam is powerful enough to light the side of a hill on our property 500 ft away well enough to see the colors of our horses and the distinguish deer beyond them. Because my headlamp uses 3 batteries, I bought 2 Nitcore UMS2 battery chargers (2 batteries / charger), because each slot charges independently of the other, auto-shuts off, and can display the charging status of both batteries. Be sure to read the fine print - many chargers require you to charge in sets of 2 batteries at a time. The Nitecore batteries can handle the 1000 ma charging rate without damage, and my back-up set of Nitecore batteries are always fully charged long before the ones I am using lose enough power to make the light unuseable. I have used high power headlamps for several years and can say without reservation that I finally have a headlamp, batteries, and charger(s) that do what I need, reliable, that work better than expected, and to date are the best I have owned. Would I like a headlamp that uses three 21700 batteries? You bet, but so far haven't found one. Without question, when I do, It will be powered with Nitecore batteries, and I won't have to upgrade my chargers, becasue my UMS2 chargers also handle 21700 batteries."

"I bought this to replace the solar rechargeable battery on my ring path light. It charged normally when I got it with the cable before installation, but did not charge with the solar panel. Worked for a couple days and now the battery won’t charge with the charging cable."

"I've been using these batteries for years and decided to buy another 18650. Checking around, I found some cheaper ones that said they also had circuit protections but in the end I decided to stay with what works reliably and safely and proven in use for me. - The battery that came with the light was a NL2153HP which was discontinued. They came out with another battery with a higher mAh but still has that 20A discharge that you need for the light. - Does anyone know if these will function as a replacement battery for a battery that came in a Ring Solar Path Light and will no longer hold a charge?
- We have heard that the Ring lights need a very short battery. We think that the TENERGY-30005-18650-FLAT is the shortest one we carry.

- What's the difference between 3400 mah and 2600 mah
- If you think of the mAh as a gas tank then you will get a longer runt ime with a 3400 mAh battery over a 2600 mAh. It is the capacity of the battery.
