You've Got Options!
The Siege runs on D cells, making it affordable and easy to refuel wherever the trail takes you. Its huge runtimes (up to 295 consecutive hours - that's almost two solid weeks) mean that one set of batteries will last for an entire outing or an extended emergency. The cylindrical light diffuser can be removed to expose a transparent inner globe, increasing your brightness without altering battery life. There's even a red LED, which is gentler on eyes than white light, making it ideal for preserving night vision.
Floats Like a Boat, Hangs Like a Monkey
Streamlight's Siege is the toughest lantern out there, with a polycarbonate body that floats, is drop-proof, and waterproof. Its handle and integrated carabiners make it easy to attach or hang anywhere. A rubberized bottom makes it grip wet or tilted surfaces. Any surface, any location, any weather - the Siege can take it.

EXCELLENT LANTERN! 10 STARS!
"You need this lantern for emergencies and camping! I like the fact that it runs on D batteries. I use rechargeable D cells and I also use AA eneloops using a D cell converter. Works great either way. This is bright. . . . . . A huge plus when you need alot of light but can also be dimmed down. You can hang it by the handles or buy the magnetic base like I did for working on the cars. This is a must have item in your car, house or emergency bag."
Good camping light
"It's the small details that make this a great camping light. Yes there are brighter and there are smaller lights but very few will be a convenient to use as the Seige. We use a few in our tent camping but always have one handy in case of emergencies. It's easy to hang and the multiple modes and low battery indicator are great. It is rugged and tough and takes a beating without failing."

Great for camping
"Purchased this for one reason - camping. The lantern is being used as my primary light source in my tent and on the table under my canopy. It did a real nice job and worked as it was intended to do. I am well pleased with the battery life. I took extra batteries and never needed them. The lantern gave me 4 nights of use in all lighting modes never dulling for a moment. Even after thise 4 nights its still going strong. I didn't teat the floating feature, nor did I use the red light function. Nor did I remove the cover to expose the LEDs. The D rings worked as intended althogh they seen little use with me. . . . . . . . . . However these are great features to have and I'm sure I will utilize them sometime in the future. My only complaint is that the light was a little too soft. However, despite that softness it did illuminate a decent size area. Overall this is a great lantern for camping if that's what you need it for. It would comein handy for many other purposes too. I would definitely recommend it."
Nice light, but could be better.
"Just used this during Irma, but there is one thing they could do to improve this style of light, and that would be to add a shield to concentrate the light in one direction. When walking in the dark, the light is not all that bright, and the light shining in your eyes does not help. A removable shield/reflector would fix this. It is nice for throwing some light around a room though. Seems well made."
