Brand Name Dependabililty
"The Streamlight brand ranks right behind the Surefire brand in terms of reputation for quality and reliability, implying this branded cell will live up to expectations. Likely both this and the Surefire brand cells are made by Panasonic or another major maker, as are cells branded for other light makers, and so all may be of comparable quality of manufacture against identical specifications and give comparable performance, but at differing prices more set by reputation than specs and quality. Battery Junction allows us to purchase whichever cells we prefer at a very reasonable price, although big name branded cells are still a premium over those whose names are not so recognizable. So, in this sense, the Streamlight is a great value if you feel branded reputation gives confidence in consistency of capacity, shelf life, output current handling, and service life discharge characteristic. That's why I've purchased these for lights I want to pack away for 'just-in-case' or 'just-when-I-need-it-to-work' roles. But I'll buy the less expensive Titanium Innovations brand for lights used regularly. I've also put some of both cells 'away' to test shelf life longevity. (I've recently pulled from storage Panasonic, Eveready, and Duracell CR123A's I've stored for 15 years and put them into service - all gave full output; I'll see about run-time service life comparison after 15 years storage. )"
