- I stand corrected on my answer and apologize for giving you incorrect information. Please see below. The jackets on all the batteries are metal. All Ultralife 9V batteries are the same high-performance cell, offering identical power and reliability. The only difference is packaging — whether foil pouch, blister card, contractor pack, or bulk, with or without caps — so you can choose the format that best fits your needs. The internal component is the same. The outer jacket is the difference. One of them has a metal jacket and one is a plastic jacket but it has a foil type wrapper over the plastic.
