Good Battery Junction Value for CERTAIN 14500 Capable Lights
"The Efest 14500 on initial use appears a good, dependable value for lights able to use these cells. Other reviews support this observations, but only time will how the service life and cycle life will fare for this brand. Not every Light will accept certain cells - I found that JetBeam's Jet 1 MK would not accept the Efest cell, apparently due to the design of its mechanical polarity reversal protection at the head and the Anode (positive button areas) insulation design of the Efest, while JetBeam's H10A right angle light did accept the Efest. Note that 14500's from JetBeam and Xtar (I've no other brand as yet) did work in the JetBeam Jet 1 MK. This situation points out the buyer beware nature of Lithium Ion cells from brand to brand and the importance of reviewers observations."
May Not Connect in your Light
"Bought this Efest because of the capacity and price, taking the risk of compatibility. Note that 'Branded' cells (that is, of OEM flashlight manufacturers) of various cell types are at a premium in price, but that premium suggests full compatibility to the makers' flashlights. In this case I've purchased 14500's from Efest, Xtar, and Jetbeam. I found that the insulated disk at the positive button of the Efest cell seems a bit higher than that of Xtar's or Jetbeam's. This cell would not work in either of my Jetbeam Jet-1-Mk lights, although it did work in my Jetbeam H10A headlamp. . . mechanical dimensions are important. Some cells are longer, and may fight you in assembly; some are thicker, resisting insertion. This is why I've made a practice of always buying at least one of the cells that is branded by the light maker. The Jetbeam and Xtar 14500's both worked properly in my Jetbeam Jet-1-Mk lights. Another compatibility issue I noted with this cell (and the other 14500 cells: the Nitecore i2, 2 channel charger I have will not charge any of the three maker's 14500 cells. My Olight UC Universal charger, however, has no such problem. Once the 14500's are charged and used for a time, then i2 can charge the cells. Only time will tell about service life and cycle life of the Efest 14500 800mAH cell compared to branded types and the Efest claims. Question is, do you feel lucky?"
