The charger comes with reverse polarity and overcharge protection so you can rest easy as your batteries charge. And if charging one battery at a time isn't enough, the charger also features a USB power output where you can plug in a USB charging cable to simultaneously charge a cell phone or other device while a battery is charging in the bay.
