If you're a mountain climber, snowboarder, or one of Antartica's 4000 inhabitants, Fenix's new ARB-L18-2900L might just be the battery for you. This 18650 cell offers a 2900mAh capacity, PCB protection, and operates in temperatures as low as -40°C! That's colder than the average temperature on the peak of Mount Everest, in winter. While most batteries suffer poor performance and rapid-loss discharge rates at colder temperatures, the 2900L doesn't even shiver, and is capable of discharging at least 70% of its capacity with a 0.2C current at -30°C. A battery this good can't only be used once, which is why Fenix utilizes lithium-ion chemistry to provide this cell with 500+ recharge cycles. If you're packing a flashlight or powerbank on your next snowy adventure, make sure you snag a few of these batteries to keep your devices going.
