2014 Edition

Fenix is going ahead and updating a majority of their lights across the different lines. The Fenix E05 is first up to get the "2014 Edition" makeover. Fenix has upgraded the LED and added three output modes versus the previous models single output mode, making this E05 a truly versatile EDC keylight. Measuring in at just over 2.5", the E05 is a pleasure to hold with its rhombic knurled aluminum body. With its optimum output-to-weight ratio, the E05 is perfect to keep in your pocket, on your keychain, or in the car, for when you are hiking, camping, or taking the trash out at night. Available in blue (black finish no longer available).

Lighting Technology

CREE LED

Fenix has decided to go with a CREE XP-E2 LED to push out a very bright 85 lumens, while in High mode. You can step down to the Medium 25 lumen mode and even further down to the 8 lumen Low mode, for just enough light when you are walking the dog. Accessing the new three output modes is done by the easy twist switch. The broad beam lens produces a soft, even beam for close-up illumination. The E05 features a digitally regulated output, which in turn maintains constant brightness.

Power

Widely Available and Inexpensive

Powering the E05 is a widely available and inexpensive AAA battery. You can use a primary Alkaline battery or go the rechargeable route and use a NiMh battery to get more bang for your buck. You don't have to worry about shorting out the batteries or the light because the E05 is IPX-8 rated and can be submerged underwater up to 2 meters.Features:
