The Fenix FD30 is bringing back a beloved feature from the ancient days of incandescent flashlights: adjustable focus! Back when incandescent bulbs were the norm, many lights could seamlessly switch from wide flood to long throw with a twist of the head. Since LED reflector units are usually sealed, most modern flashlights have a single, fixed point of focus. Enter the FD30! Dual reflectors let you switch from spotlight to floodlight with a simple twist of the rotary ring. The long-throwing mode reaches 200 meters downfield, while the flood has a massive spill of 76°. Shape your beam on the fly to hit distant targets or illuminate an up-close work area.
So Many Bells and Whistles
The FD30 is packed with Fenix's trademark multi-mode features. Dual switches allow you to select from momentary or constant-on. It's easy to operate the FD30 one-handed or with gloves, since the tailcap switch gives a big chunky click when fully depressed. Cycle through five brightness levels and a defensive strobe with the side switch. A memory feature powers up the light at the same setting you left off, ensuring you'll never accidentally blind yourself. The LED blinks intermittently when your battery is on its last legs, reminding you to swap or recharge. You can power the FD30 with your choice of a rechargeable 18650, or two CR123As, renowned for their long shelf life. This way you can take advantage of money-saving, environmentally friendly rechargeables, while keeping a few CR123As in storage for emergency backup.
Rough and Rugged
The FD30's finely-milled components are dust tight and waterproof, earning it the maximum possible protection rating of IP68. No foul weather or dust storm can hurt this bad boy. Drop-proof to one meter, the FD30 can also fall from waist height with no damage. The included clip lets you attach the FD30 to your belt, pocket, or bag, making it easy to carry and store.
