High Power Spot and Flood Modes

Before going on your next hiking, cycling, or camping excursion, pack the Fenix HM65R Headlamp. Designed for active lifestyles and embedded with heavy-duty durability, this headlamp utilizes two CREE LEDs, one in white and the other in neutral white, for intense illumination that can be adjusted up to 60 degrees. Use the flood mode for immediate illumination of the surrounding area with a max 400 lumen output. Use spotlight mode's 1000 lumen Turbo mode to get a better view of what's coming up on the trail with an impressive 163 meter throw. The Fenix HM65R Headlamp uses a dual switch control system that allows for independent controlling of spot and floodlights for an uncomplicated UI that won't take your attention away from any adventure.

Lightweight and Reinforced Magnesium Alloy

Unlike other headlamps that built out of aluminum alloy, the Fenix HM65R is made out of a magnesium alloy that is 32.6% lighter. The simple switch from an aluminum alloy to a magnesium alloy makes it easier to wear the headlamp without headaches or added tension - it's almost like it's not even there! With an IP68 rating, this headlamp is submersible up to 1.5 meters and is protected from dust and other foreign objects. Don't worry about impending weather - like intense rain or snow - or falling and slipping into that nearby lake because your Fenix HM65R is protected. Combine that with a 2 meter impact resistance and this headlamp is ready for anything that can be thrown at it.

Absolutely Superb Headlight!

"I purchased this headlamp little over a year ago. I have used it almost daily for between 25 minutes and couple hours a day. I have had 0 problems with the Fenix unit. I have used it for lighting specific areas when I worked on electronic circuit boards and computers. I have walked my dog in the evening and early morning hours when it was still dark. I have used it for bicycling in the evening around my home. It is my go to choice when I want to be able to use both hands for doing whatever I wish. Battery life is exemplary. The light beam choices are good. The headband, after one year's use, still shows no signs of wear. The control programming is easy to understand and just about foolproof. I cannot recommend this highly enough. JG"

My new favorite Fenix headlamp!

"I have at least one of all the top tier Fenix headlamps. Prior to purchasing the new HM65R I favored their HL60R. The HM65R has more total lumens (1,400 combined between both lamps), whereas, the HL60R has 1,000 lumens (1 lamp). The HM65R also has a 4-bar battery 'fuel gauge' and comes with a Fenix 3500 mAh battery. Two features stand out with the Fenix HM65R headlamp, a higher quality headband which has less overall stretch but stays on your head much better due in part to the gel-like strip on the inner band in the forehead area, extending back a little ways on each side. The other feature I really like is the housing is made of ultra lightweight Magnesium making the entire unit appreciably lighter than any other top tier Fenix headlamp."

Great Headlamp!

"My wife and I use headlamps quite a bit. We own 3 Fenix headlamps. We really like the fact that this headlamp has two switches. One for the spotlight, one for the floodlight. That makes it very easy to turn on the light mode you want at the intensity you want. The two beams compliment each other very well. This is our first 18650 headlamp, but based upon the performance of this light, we will be getting more. The magnesium body helps keep the weight down. One minor complaint: I have a very large head. I use a XXL size helmet for biking and climbing. The band on this light barely fits my head. It took a few days of wear before the band felt comfortable. The runtimes listed are ANSI and fantasy. You won't get anything near the listed runtimes at the intensity you expect. Just know that and do your own runtime testing."

This headlamp runs on one 18650 or two CR123's - it states nothing about a proprietary battery so think a standard 18650 will work.
