The Fenix HP01 LED Headlamp is a step up for the more technical hikers who take the more difficult path up the mountain. Featuring up to six modes, a durable construction, and a comfortable headband, this headlamp is sure to impress. Take each of these features and roll them up into a neat little package for a low price, thanks to Fenix. Forget the cheap incandescent lights which produce dim, blotchy yellow beams. The HP01 is equipped with only the finest LED from CREE and Nichia which never fails to continuously produce brilliant beams time and time again.
Specialized for the Outdoors
The HP01 has 4 main lighting levels which vary in intensity. A 210 lumen Turbo mode, 105 lumen High mode, 45 lumen Mid mode, and a 4 lumen Low mode are only some of the level of brightness you can access thanks to the CREE XP-G (R5) LED at its core. An additional Nichia red LED provides for night vision preservation, while an added SOS mode serves as a last resort in case you get lost. Just switch to SOS mode, place your light in an ideal location, and tend to other life saving tasks. For multiple lighting angles, simply tilt the light itself vertically so you can easily see the trail ahead.

Fenix made this headlamp with the wearer in mind as an additional vertical head strap keeps it stable, secure, and comfortable on your head. Great light, but description of features is misleading
"Great light for the money. I am glad I ordered it, however, under the Features description, it mentions parts of the light are made from Aluminum Alloy. There is no aluminum anywhere in/on/or part of the light. It is all plastic, albeit it looks like durable plastic. I just think the descriptions need to be more accurate for the consumer."
Excellent for working and emergencies
"I got one of these Fenix HP01 lights to use for working on my bicycle. The place is poorly lit, and bringing in a corded lamp is not an option. And using lanterns makes for rather poor light for working in tight areas, such as adjusting brakes and shifters. I have tried other headlights, but they either have short battery life or offer inflexible brightness settings, often too dim to see in those tight areas. This light, using 2 AA batteries which can be NiMH rechargeables, provides the right amount of light to see in tight spots. I recommend using this to see to adjust disc brakes for your bicycle or motorcycle. It can be adapted for working on cars (particularly those emergency night time repairs or jump starts in winter), working on your computer, or anywhere else where you need to see in tight spots. With this light, I can easily see the gaps where the disc brake shoes are supposed to be on my bicycle, allowing me to adjust my wheel so it evens out the gaps. It also enables me to adjust my derailleurs so they work properly--something I couldn't see properly to do due to the tightness of this area. I also like that the batteries are in a separate pack, so the weight is balanced. This means the light is not prone to falling off your head when you lightly bump into it or move your head. The batteries are reasonably easy to change, and no tools are needed to do that (I have seen some that need screwdrivers or a coin to open). The switches are protected when the light is all the way tilted up, so accidental activation is difficult. The interface is easy to use. And, if the electricity goes off, you can use this to navigate around the house. It is fine for camping, hiking, or exploring. The light levels are appropriate, so you get enough light to use but not to disrupt others (or waste batteries). When more light is needed, it is on tap. For search and rescue, however, this light is rather weak (and I recommend the Fenix TK70 or O-Light SR96 for this--this type of use merits the use of 18650 batteries). But, this light is perfect for those common emergency situations, as well as everyday work. And, using NiMH batteries, it is cheap to run--in the long run, it is cheaper than what you find at your local box store."
