Great light
"I have two of these lights for myself and giving one as gift for Christmas. From flood to spotlight, from very low power to very high power and battery level indicator, it's a flashlight that's hard to beat!"

The Fenix LR40R Searchlight is a compact, high-performance search and floodlight combined into one. This palm-sized torch can put out an astonishing 12,000 lumen beam that can shine up to 773 meters away! With such tremendous outputs and combined functions, it can be used for search and rescue, long distance spotting, cave exploring, or even as emergency lighting for drivers. The floodlight outputs provide a broad and even beam for close to mid range lighting needs, while the spotlight has a beam that can reach far into the night at long distances, independently toggled by the simple two button interface. The spot and floodlight can also be used simultaneously should you need a combination beam. The LR40R is powered by a rechargeable, 12000mAh capacity Li-ion battery pack that can last up to 92 hours. That is four days of use without a recharge! Should your battery pack use the last of its power, you can also use any number of one to four 18650 batteries in case of emergency. See the downloadable user manual for specific battery recommendations.
The LR40R is a hand-held spotlight, but has the user friendly design of an EDC. The housing is made from high-strength and oxidation resistant aluminum to withstand the punishment of extreme and rugged use. It has dual stainless steel side switches that provide easy access to both spot and floodlight functions and modes. The Lockout mode provides you with extra safety while carrying to prevent accidental activation and preserving your battery power. Easily rechargeable with the protected Type-C USB port and included charging cable. The Type-C USB fast charging system only takes 3.3 hours to get a complete charge. Battery indicator lights let you know exactly how much power you have left without taking the battery pack out, saving you time and hassle. Using the same USB port for charging the light itself, you can also charge your essential electronics from this flashlight with the discharging functionality! When discharging, you can still use this light in Eco and Low levels on Spotlight mode. What a life-saver!

"This is a great flashlight in every respect. It is a champion when it comes to light output and everything seems to be high quality in regards to manufacturing and design. This will be great for night geocaching and other adventures. As usual the ordering process at Battery Junction is extremely well handled. 5 Stars all around."
"Overall great light - having both a spotlight and flood light in one device is great. I walk my dog in the evenings and whether walking down dark streets or backwoods, the LR40R is like having car headlights in the palm of you hand - you can truly light up everything. I am really impressed with the amount of light this can give off - I also love the power indicator lights, and fast charging. The two smart function buttons take some practice - the length of time you hold them down determines the action. Downsides: It is a thick flashlight with some weight associated with all that power. The power buttons are smooth and can be difficult to locate by feel in the dark. Lastly, the screw down butt-cap has a machined fluted lip that can dig into your palm and isn't the most comfortable. Having said that I was most definitely purchase this light again - having that much light at your fingertips provides a huge sense of security."
"This flashlight bring good throw and or great flood together with a nice interface. Beampattern, battery life, charging, spare battery /user replaceable, emergency use, throw (candela and candela spread [specifically, amiability from switching off flood]) and flood (lumens power and sustainable output) are all great. The two button interface lacks jumping to turbo quickly but otherwise is fantastic. The s. o. s. mode isn't functioning properly, and the buttons are at first hard to distinguish, but these are the only 2 details I've yet found to report negative on. It could use a lower lowest mode, especially on flood mode as it is hard to tell whether or not you are changing modes when one type is on and the other type is being turned on. But, the bread and butter of changing each mode around with the other one on a different level is perfect. You will find this very useful for pretty much everything. It is smaller than it looks, much smaller than tk75 and carries well on the hip, like the old 5 D cell flashlight your father carried for his security job; the extra size adds some heft for using it as a paper weight and other activities where extra weight helps. Affordable for its brightness, I do other flashlights, a lot, and this has no competition for being throw/flood and/or done right. No tripod mount, the dust cover has little water resistance A) it is waterproof without the port dust cover but B) the dust cover easily flips off and has no seal. It seams intentionally easy."
