"Here in the North West, hiking can be a danger to your life. The woods swallow sound within 30 feet, everything is wet and cold. If I get lost, I have three ways to signal to my party: a high powered laser pointer shone into the sky, my whistle and a Spot beacon. Yelling or screaming for help isn;t something you can do for long periods of time. If I was ever lost, I am confident this whistle can be heard within a mile or so, even as dense, and wet as the mountains and forests are here. If you are in a tough spot and you are looking for a way out, this whistle is highly recommended."
