Surely an instant classic, the Fenix PD36R is a compact, tactical LED flashlight with 1600 Lumens of pure lighting power. Focused through a powerful reflector, this light can reach beam distances of up to 928 feet, a great choice for long-range outdoor work. The PD36R represents the latest in high-quality flashlight design, featuring USB Type-C fast charging that has the light powered up incredibly fast. The body of the light is even more compact than the preceding PD series, measuring just 5.35 Inches making it great for everyday carry. Speaking of carry, the included two-way pocket clip makes it just that much easier to clip to clothing or equipment whichever way you want.

Switch It Up

The Fenix PD36R makes the switch from EDC to tactical action in the blink of an eye with its dual switch system. The classic rear tactical switch will be familiar to users with military or law enforcement experience, with a solid clicky action that has the option of being used as a momentary-on switch. The convenient side switch, on the other hand, gives the light an easy to use way of switching brightness modes and includes a distinct battery level indicator that lets users know when the battery is nearly depleted. Once that battery is depleted, the included USB-C cable will have the PD36R up and running in just 10 minutes.

"My PD36R is one of my favorite flashlights and I own many. . !! I have some that emit up to 2600 lumens but aren't compact enough for edc. I use my flashlight EVERY day all day long and the convenience of being able to charge a flashlight without changing the battery out is huge to me. My PD36R is more than bright enough and the charge is substantial for how much I actually use it. My previous favorite was the PD35 series and before that years ago the PD32. Fenix is my best go to brand out of the many brands of flashlights I own. (Probably close to 20 different flashlights) I will probably buy another one because i'm a collector. . . . or hoarder. . . or whatever. Highly recommend the PD36R. . !!"

Stunningly bright; excellent UI

"The headline says it all: stunningly bright with an excellent user interface. My only quibble is with recharging. It uses a C form of wire and most all of my rechargers use the older micro usb system, meaning I now have only one wire (the one included with the flashlight) to recharge. Of course, I can also remove the battery and recharge using one of Fenix's rechargers, but that limits the utility, requiring me to bring the charger on trips or be careful not to lose the included wire."

"The Fenix PD36R 1600 Lumen pocket flashlight is an INSANELY bright tactical torch. It has all the usual features you'd expect to find in the dozen other tactical flashlights we have in our house: rear tactical switch, two-way pocket clip, intensity settings on the side, and defensive strobe mode. It also includes a very modern USB-C port for charging, which works pretty well. It uses a 21700 battery, which I won't say is 'non-standard', but is very different than the 16 or so 18650 Li-Ion batteries and two chargers that I own. This means, obviously, that your existing 18650 charger almost definitely won't charge a 21700 battery. What's most extraordinary about the PD36R is it's high power 1600 Lumen output. I've carried 1000 Luman flashlights for a long time, and 1000 Lumens is *bright*, but 1600 Lumens is STUPID BRIGHT! You best not catch yourself in a mirror when you fire up this beast or you'll go blind. The only minor nit about this tactical flashlight is that the base is not flat, which means you can't stand it on end and use it as a makeshift lantern. All my Nitecore flashlights stand on their tail, which I never missed until it was gone (gave my old one to my grandson). It's minor, but noteworthy. Overall, the Fenix PD36R was an excellent purchase. Highly recommended."

"I wanted a light the same size as my PD35 (which I still love) but which was a bit brighter, especially on max continuous level. Comparison: PD36R PD35, 2014 Edition 1600 Burst 960 Burst 800 x 5. 9hr 460 x 3. 3hr (30min max) 350 x 8. 5hr 180 x 10hr 150 x 26hr 50 x 38hr 30 x 115hr 14 x 150hr I debated between buying the PD36R and the FD30 (900 Lumens but focusable) and decided to go with the PD36R. I also intend to use it as a bicycle headlight when the days get shorter. 850 Lumens continuous is pretty good."
