A Slim And Bright Everyday Carry
As the latest incarnation of Fenix's renowned UC35 model, the all-new UC35 carries all the features that made it popular and improves upon the model. The light now utilizes a CREE XM-L2 U2 LED, and running on 1 18650 or 2 CR123A batteries is now capable of up to 960 Lumens of raw lighting power. The light also features several stages of lighting including high, medium and low modes as well as a blinding tactical strobe mode.
Incredibly Durable
It wouldn't be a Fenix light without a host of durability and safety features that have always brought maximum customer satisfaction to the brand. The body of the light is crafted out of anodized aluminum with a reinforced glass lens and has been rated for drop impacts of up to 1 meter. The light is also rated IPX-8 Waterproof and can be submerged in waters of up to 2 meters. The electronics of the light are incredibly resilient thanks to solid state LED technology and reverse polarity protection that prevents accidental misuse of batteries.
Internally Rechargeable
This version of the UC35 is rechargeable! A single 18650 battery can be charged right inside the light, making clunky chargers obsolete. The UC35 charges via a simple USB cord, so it can be hooked up to a desktop or laptop, or even a wall USB charger. "This light is a great size, not to big and not to small. Very versatile with the different lighting settings for either long battery life or a crazy bright light. It is versatile in that you can use either the rechargeable battery which can be charged by a USB cable or using the CR123 battery in case the USB port isn't available. Very handy. King of the Class!
"The 1x18650 one inch wide cigar tube shaped EDC class of high output LED lights is pretty darn crowded nowadays. Fenix began the trend with their early PD32 then updated and refined it into the best selling PD35. Where to go from there? Almost every LED light maker now has a model in this category of high output LED lights they are so popular. Fenix one upped even its own PD35 by releasing the UC35 which is basically a PD35 thats about an inch longer with first class built in mini USB charger. The output and beam profile between the PD35 and UC35 are virtually identical which means 1000 actual out the front lumens, perfectly spaced modes and perfect close range beam profile the rest of the class lacks. Many people complain about the UC35 being an inch longer than the PD35. Well remember that even at an inch longer than the PD35, the light still slips easily into almost any pocket and stays in place with Fenix excellent pocket clip. The extra inch in length also gives the UC35 the best heat sinking in the entire class by a wide margin. There is just that much more metal behind the reflector to absorb and dissipate the heat. Look closer at the part of the light behind the reflector and notice how Fenix designed the extra metal into long short yet wide fins for cooling. Genius! The built in charger works perfectly with any 18650. I myself use a dedicated charger so to me that extra inch is just superior heat sinking. The tail switch is best in class in terms of form, function and feel as is the side switch that selects the modes. There is also a red LED underneath the side switch that starts to blink when voltage gets low. Also, expose the side switch to an average household lamps light for a bit and the side switch will glow green in the dark. So there you have it, best build quality in the class, best beam profile in the class, best heat sinking in the class, there are other mini USB rechargeable lights in this class but the UC35 built in charger has the best and most reliable design. Includes a high MaH Fenix 18650, long mini USB cable and quality sheath. UC and PD35 are the best built lights in the class. Want a PD35 but also want the ability to be able to charge it almost anywhere you go via USB? The UC35 is it and once again the king of the class."
