"Aesthetically pleasing to the eye and to the touch. It's overall shape is like a traditional flashlight. Feels solid in the hand and when you grab it, your thumb or index finger will find the switch fast. The silicone covered charging port is opposite the switch and feels very different from it. The switch feels crisp and if it's quiet, you can hear the click. The quality of the beam is a very bright center and a wide spill. At 100 yards or less, they are very distinct, becoming less so at longer range. This is a 'step down' flashlight. Starting from 5 lumens, the next click brings you to 1200, then 400, then 100 and back to 5. Quite startling when 10 ft. from a white wall, trying it out for the first time. That won't happen again. It does indeed throw light well. I tried it out over a sorghum field with a run down barn 120 yards away. 5 lumens, I could see to about 20 yards away. 100 I could see the barn but no detail. 400 I could see the whole field and the barn clearly. 1200 I could see the whole field, the barn is light up bright and I'm catching sight of the trees in back of it probably another 50 yards. I did this test here in central Pennsylvania where the color of night is pitch black with no other competing light sources, so your mileage may vary. This light throws farther than I'll need it too. Single spring contact for the battery so it's button top only. My light came with a clip. This isn't mention in the info but appreciated. The diode is deeply seated in the reflector which makes it useful to tailstand it on a table and use the reflection off the ceiling to make and great light to drink wine by, which is proper during a blackout. We keep 2 bottles of bordeaux for just such an occurence. It will fit in pants pockets but you'll know its there. A Carhart work jacket or winter jacket pocket and it will be unobtrusive. There's always the included holster."
